Direct TV problem no signal
Published (2009-11-15 08:40:00)
Well when I had the first lady on the phone, I think she figured it out, she BETTER be nice to me. I think one of the things I said to her when she told me the cost of service call was going to be $ 50, was....*that is not acceptable * I should ask how long we been a customer with them, but I know it is many years. We now have the direct tv bundled with the phone, and the DSL for the computer. We pay $ 138 a month for the package. If we had...

ideas for odd board game pieces
Published (2009-11-09 16:23:00)
When I was a Den leader I had a box of odd pieces & parts, the kids used them for a variety of craft projects. The one we liked the best was a wreath. The kids made mini wreaths for Christmas & many of the boys chose to use some of the parts to decorate their wreaths.

Dh says it means Direct TV has a satellite out and your receiver dish cant pick up a signal. He said if it is a storm or just cloud cover it passes quickly. A longer problem is their end.

You could glue the odd pieces to a picture matte and make a frame out of it.

Let me count the ways! I've done this so many times. With me it might be buying some sort of supplies or tool to repair something that I should have given up on in the first place.

Hmm...tough one.
Two things I see as potential problems.
1. Every tiny little thing that falls will go in between the cracks.
2. The grout acts as a support for the corners so if you drop something heavy enough, that corner will break.

That's pretty reasonable.
Honestly, babies grow out of the clothes so fast that it's hard not to get a good deal on them. Eager relatives and new parents buy a ton of them, but the baby grows out of them so fast that they don't get worn out at all, and so there's a ton of aftermarket stuff. Garage sales, craigslist, etc.
If you get too many, no big deal, you can always sell/pass them on ...

I've not had any experience with a fireless cooker, but when my oven went out I did use my gas grill to bake lasange...worked really well...better than the oven actually.

I'd opt for just trying it on yourself and family to see how it goes over. If it bodes well, then consider giving it to close friends and family that would actually trust you and know you're into homemade/natural things.
Getting that as a gift from a coworker or an acquaintance - basically someone I'm not very close to would kind of put me off. All b/c I don't know you well enough. And you ...

My sister found a cool little puzzle box money holder. It is the size of a bill and is acrylic, so when you put the bill (whatever denomination) in, you can see it. But the recipient has to figure out how to open the box to get to the money. I thought that was kind of a cool way to give cash, because I like puzzles.

Hi, I used to get my hair professionally colored every two months and at $130 a pop it was getting expensive. So here's what I do, I get my hair colored (highlights etc.) once or twice a year and in between I color myself. I use L'oreal Excellence Creme, I wait until it's on sale for $6.99. It's easy, won't stain shower (will stain clothes however) and makes the professional color last longer. I ...

I like to bake it, covered in a dish with a little water, like you'd cook any other squash, and then put it in the food processor. Scrape it out of the shell and do it in batches. If you don't cover it, it forms a skin which you have to throw out.
I have not noticed that the food processor does any better job than my old blender or my handy chopper, or my stick blender, it's just bigger.

The laundry additive febreeze (not the spray bottle) is around $10 a bottle. I make up my own homemade febreeze with it and it's amazing. I just put some in a spray bottle and fill the rest with water. I add it to buckets of scrubbing solution for smelly/messy jobs and I've never been disappointed. Just a nice clean, fresh smell. For a carpet I would add it to a shampooer, it would totally kick ...
