I love this part. Quote: Several of the New York chief executives at the largest Wall Street banks didn't make an appearance in Washington, saying fog in Washington delayed their flights. Attending via teleconference were Goldman Sachs (GS, Fortune 500) Chief Executive Lloyd Blankfein, Morgan Stanley (MS, Fortune 500) Chief Executive John Mack, and Citigroup (C, Fortune 500) Chairman Dick Parsons. I do agree with you. I have a hard time focusing. Yep, I have the TMMO book...I have read it twice now lol. Baby step one in a month? (I have $26 in there so far, yey!) That would be awesome!!! I guess you are right looking @ the numbers. So I will put $250 atleast away in savings every week til I have that. DH's car is a 1991 Nissan Altima, with 168,000 miles on it. It has been checked by a mechanic and it has costed us $4000 so far. The...

I did a quick calculation and if those are the only bills you have (listed) then you should have roughly $1700 left to divvy up for other misc bills, EF etc but I think I may have missed a few things during your postings. I'm sure other with more experience will be able to help advise you. (Or Greebo will just chime in again and adjust his #'s from the first few threads ) Keep that chin up gf You WILL get through this.

Oh I also wanted to ask, if our paychecks are more than we budgeted what would be the best thing to use this on? The EF, or Debt?
Also wanted to add, the reason why I have a move out fund before paying off debt is because I cannot stay here long enough to pay off debt first (if that makes any sense!)

Great plan - love how you are jumping in and just doing it!!
Years ago I started paying myself first by AD (automatic deposit) of $25 bimonthly for $100 savings bonds.
Then I added $100 bimonthly for an annuity.
This year I added $85 bimonthly ING EF account.
Are this the best financial decisions? - probably not, but they worked and still work for me. It has been very hard at...

I guess I am old fashion. I do it with a notebook and pen.
Each page is for one month. My current notebook, I can go back 5 yrs in it. So if I wanted to know more about Dec of 2008 , it's a easy flip back in the book.
I just write the bill, when it is due, the amount, and then date of payment with a checkmark when it is paid.

"Only spend what you put on it." I don't get the point of having one.
Why not just use a debit card?
Unless one is looking for a way to build their FICO score. Not sure.
