Hesitation.....

There are not many things that will cause your car to go into limp mode. they are: no CAS readings. No MAF readings, out of range MAF readings will usually simply throw a check engine code and one third thing I dont remember right now. <

Looking at buying a '94
Published (2010-01-04 14:11:00)
I can say without hesitation that this is the nicest car I've ever owned. I turns out that the rear brake caliper wasn't bad after all. One of the guide pins hadn't been greased and had a bit of surface rust. A quick polish and some silicone brake grease saved me a nice chunk of change. Unfortunately, it seems that once you start giving a car attenttion, it wants more. After having it in the warm shop for a couple hours, I went...

Congrats on your 94Q purchased. Fred is right on spot in changing all fluids. When I bought my 94Q I wasted no time and took it to the dealership to replace all fluids.

Hesitation.....

The strange thing is that it happens during normal driving and acceleration. No particular speed or driving condition. Seems to go into limp mode. Car is a 2004 M45 with only about 18k miles on it....no CEL either.

Don't rely on the absence of CEL always scan with OBD2 scan tool as some problems won't always illuminate light or worse lights can burn out or fail to trigger. As to failing just after warranty expires: I would give engineers a bonus for cutting it close to edge. After all vehicles which last too long hurt stockholders, which require a constant selling of product. years! We must make them fail faster so new ones are purchased.

Airbag Recall for some...
Published (2009-12-29 01:24:00)
For those wondering, I just had my SRS airbag light go into flashing mode. Dealer said no go on any warranty on my 02 Q. I did a check on the internet and found that if you turn the key so all the lights come on, don't start the engine, and wait until the airbag light turns off, but before it starts blinking, turn the key to the off position. Wait 3 seconds and do it all over again, 3 or 4 times. After those cycles, wait 5 or 6 seconds...

RB : welcome to Freshalloy!!!
I tink you will like it here.
Here are the answer to your questions
:
1) That rust is pretty normal, the G50 tends ot rust right there. Do some searches here on FA for ways to fix it
2)The ticking means you have some varnihs, use high deteergent oils like any drive clean brand or maybe valvoline durablend.
Should go away within a few oil changes.

FYI for all...
The issue about the screws stripping easily isn't just on this car, it's all Nissan's as far back as the early 90's (haven't done any stereo work on on one older than that, so only speaking from experience). Boonie is 100% correct. Push hard & I don't recommend using a drill (learned the hard way after having to drill out one too many stripped Nissan screws,LOL). Hope this ...

I had my airbag light on my 2002 Q light up about a month ago (July 2009). Replaced a sensor under Elite Warranty, no cost. No mention of a recall at that time. Makes me wonder.
