If we get reconciled to his death in this Forum the scriptwriters will conclude we're OK with it. I think cyber life is as real as the other so let us keep him ticking on it!

I know they have shocked us over and over, but turning Jack bad would just ocmpletely shatter everything this show has ever established, rend the very fabric of "24" beyond recognition or repair. It won't happen.? (You heard it here first.? :-) )

Aren't we tired of characters going evil?, or so we think.? It usually ends up being a cover, of course. Jack will die when the show ends. Most heroes do.? He has a contract for several more years. If the ratings are good, I'm sure he'll fulfill his contract. This has got to be expensive to film, but if viewers watch... Saw Keifer on Leno and he said he LOVES filming 24.? Mary (Chloe) said in an interview how intense Keifer is...

I hope they let Jack retire,? and make Renee and Chloe the main characters. Then in S9 at least Jack could be seen when they go visit him, call for advice, etc-- I know they want to quit on a high but 24 is the only thing I look forward to on tv.

Nobody seems to get a happy ending in 24. Other shows they get recognition in the end, here the message seems to be that there is no reward for serving the country, not for Jack nor anywhere else. I wanted them to end Tony amd Michelle's storyline with Season 4 but they had to bring them back and all.

I love EVERY WORD of your post and I'm right there with you.
They don't need Jack to die to make him a tragic figure, he's that already and why have a movie themed on Redemption if ultimately it leads to a smattering of peace nothing else. It sort of invalidates them making the effort.
Add to that, what the hell would they do for a movie? Make it about Jack's past? How can they do that ...

That would be different! Maybe so -- we are all assuming they will be seperated but maybe Jack will just pick up the phone, "Honey? I've run into some trouble here with terrorists, I won't be able to pick up the milk on the way home!"

That would be great, like with all of the really dramatic moments that happened---like george and the nuke, Jack killing ryan, palmer/michelle dieing, etc.

I'd like to see them do something that doesn't involve WMD and/or magic remote controls and ACTUALLY STICK WITH IT for an entire season, or at least 2/3 of a season. Seasons 4, 5, and 6 all started with something small, but then after a few episodes we always found out that the small threat was just clearing the way for a WMD attack. If they decide to have a drumbeat of different threats, well...

Snap! I feel the same way.
I also think because Tony failed to kill Wilson, he would have two sources of guilt: every bad thing he did to get to Wilson, and every bad thing Wilson does in future. He would be happier if he continued to believe he was right all along, like Hodges did, but I'd rather see him sad and right than happy and wrong.
