Having just acquired a HLD-4 for my E-3, I wonder about the low power indication. Does the low battery icon flash when just one battery is running low, or does it wait till both are almost dead? Is there a sequence of use of batteries or does it take power randomly?

Anyone know of a link to a cutaway of an E-3? I'm particularly interested in how the camera strap lugs join on to the chassis. I'm a great fan of the Y-strap, which only uses one lug. Now, on the E-510/520 I have no concerns about putting the weight of the camera and lens through one lug, but the E-3 is heavier, so I want to know if it's likely to take the load.

I found a used Olympus 50-200mm lens for $750 in mint condition. My plan is trading in my 18-180mm and E-500 body and possibly getting $200 for it. I then buy the 14-54mm for my normal needs. Is it sound like a good idea? Thanks, Joe

I went to the camera store today to finally purchase an E-3, only to find they had none in stock and weren't going to get any more any time soon. In my disappointment I found myself holding a Canon 40D and a Nikon D80 (I think). The last time I saw this much cheap plastic I was riding in a 1984 Dodge truck. They were rubbish. The build quality didn't match that of my E-1 or even the E-10's I ...

Is there a camera shop in central London which is likely to have an E-3 body at a good price? We (me and SWMBO) are going down to London for a couple of days sightseeing in early December, and I want a central London camera shop which we may just chance on when out strolling, that I can casually enter and see an E-3. If I can persuade SWMBO that it's a good price.... (Bear - this, if it...

Somewhere, I conveniently don't remember, I heard rumors of an E-3n. Anyone else?

I enjoyed writing this rather tongue-in-cheek piece, pricipally to stimulate debate on "Talk Photography," but I thought you might enjoy it here. Are there any circumstances where an Olympus E3 might out-perform a Nikon D3 in terms of image quality? My first reaction to this idle thought was, “No, surely not,” but then.......take this scenario:- Two aspiring wildlife photographers...

I'm using Adobe RGB for the color space setting on my E3. I'm undecided if this is a good idea. I will do some printing from Photoshop but will, at least initially, use an outside service (probably Kodak) for prints I sell. I don't seem to have the same color depth when I post these to the internet. For an example you can view the 'Connecticut River Evening' I just posted to my gallery....

This is a second keepers of this colorful dragon. It is not as sharp as I would like it to be because it was heavily cropped. Arguably, this is when I wish for more megapixels and more focus points. My successful rate for shots like this is one in fifty.
