Christmas Eve in the Death Star
Published (2009-12-25 07:46:00)
It was Christmas Eve in the Royal Court, and Good King Wenceslas was feeling more than a bit peckish, so he picks up his phone and calls the local Pizza restaurant. "Hell! This is King Wenceslas!" (For he was a modest man.) "Your usual order sire?" "That's right - Deep Pan, Crisp and Even!"

Honestly I would have preferred that. Special effects are there to SERVE the story not to make it, and that entire episode felt to me like it was all one big joke leading up to the 'its the master race' punchline. Really, if you liked the Master flying around like Iron Man then you - and RTD - have missed the point of the character entirely. He's meant to be the doctors intellectual equal, their battles are meant to be...

I just saw the trailer for next weeks episode which has a shot of Wilf (Bernard Cribbins) in some kind of laser turret. The big bucks must have been spent on the final episode.

Merry Christmas.. The thread
Published (2009-12-24 21:28:00)
Merry Christmas from us. After a full day out and about I'm being dragged to watch the kids play games. Isn't Christmas wonderful? Of course Chocolate pie helps deaden the senses to the games.

I'm starting to think I need to skip this one. I know I said its a must-see regardless of the story or the dialogue, but I think I'm changing my mind based on the overall theme of the reviews: that the dialogue and plot are way worse than anyone imagined. No amount of eye-candy is going to override that. On a lighter note: this is hell funny: http://avatarsucks.com/

Back to Earth for me. A post-apocalyptic Earth, in The Book Of Eli. I love that stuff. Warday, The Postman (the book, not the movie) A Canticle for Liebowitz, etc.

Do you reckon they're going to pull out of word processing and its companion programes? I've never worked anywhere that didn't use the MS office suite for all the grown up stuff.
