This is most likely network related. I work from home 90% of the time, and I only get 'no service' when our system is down for maintenance. My phone runs through the open Internet as do most Fonality Sales employee phones. Most likely, your phone registers, and then some switch/router/firewall is timing out that session. Have you checked for 'phone X is now unavailable' messages within the Asterisk console? You may find...

Interesting that our only Aastra phone reported the 'No Service' error. The grandstream would have no service and the calls would go directly to the voice mail, but never reported the error. The culprit I believe was an old netgear wireless router. I noticed 2 weeks ago that I could not sine in with WPA. Trying to administrate wireless settings was buggy and did not work. So today I tossed router away and phones are good now! I...

3 POE Switches? Why ? I can only assume these are three unmanaged switches. Do yourself a huge favor and get a managed switch with sufficient ports. Consumer grade network gear has no place in a voip network. Most cheap switches do a terrible job when stacked of handling the root bridge election for spanning tree protocol. If you have multiple managed switched you can set the spanning tree priorities.

The phones you have are (based on what you posted) provided by Packet 8, a hosted VoIP solution provider. Those phones look to be produced by a generic company and probably rebranded by Packet 8. They're not going to be plug and play with Trixbox Pro like supported phones would be. You can probably get them to work, but you're going to have to figure out how to get in them and change the boot / register servers, specify the SIP...

Jitters in conference
Published (2009-12-16 17:19:00)
I just installed the UT50 on your advise, and it showed good quality when I ran the zttest at 12pm today, but I am still getting the following email: Your current SkyVoIP Call Quality Issue usage is due to the lack of any timing source. You have 1 Call Quality Issue alert(s) in the past hour. Disable this message in the Admin Panel-> Status-> alerts. Should i be concerned?

I would be capping packets on network to see what is happening, I have seen broadcast storm cause this type of issue. Maybe a scanning software installed (malware / trojan)

Great info Graham...to share another useful TFTP tip, here's how to view the TFTP log in real time to watch as phones connect and download firmware: Log into trixbox Pro SSH as root Run this command: tail -f /var/log/tftp.log (CTRL+C when finished). Thanks,

Fonality has decided to distribute trixbox with the PBXtra version of Asterisk. It uses XML manager commands. Maybe Andrew will explain what all of this means. It perhaps was needed to support Hud3. This would be very good for the general user base, bad for running other applications that require manager support.

Hi swilsonjr, Your best bet is to call into Fonality Support and open up a ticket for this issue. Thanks,
