Unfortunately the tutorial I've left here will have to do until someone else picks up the baton! This was a side-project and I don't have time to gussy it up for what looks like a great FreePBX module. Thanks for your interest though. Rich

As an old phone guy, I embraced asterisk / free pbx about 4 years ago. I buy pre built via associates and do all the install / endpoints and training ect. I was always a bit frightened to build them myself. Until now. I just built my first box from scratch with PSTN trunk and IAX trunk. The distributions are a great place to learn and useful for smaller end users. I got to a certain point with our customers I wanted more control over the Asterisk/FreePBX version that was being run. We build our own Asterisk from source and keep a private repository. It makes change management and inclusion of third party drivers much simpler. I just wanted to thank you i used what you did with your uniden phone to get it to work for me. And it worked like a charm. Only difference is my trixbox is on a internet server and yours is local. But i just pointed the dns to that server and it worked left the gateway and such pointed to my local router. But i am using the beta version of trixbox so i believe its asterisk 1.4. ...

My current setup is IPPBX WITH fax service. I still receive telephone calls on the same system. When fax comes the system auto detect fax and received it without disturbing or interfering with my phone. Yes, the CID display properly on all other sip extensions. I believe the system auto fills the gap/space between each word in the subject line with the 20% off. Thanks for your help...

I have been eyeballing trixbox for a while and would like to create a very simple home installation. I already have a trixbox server that runs on a Virtual Box VM. I am a newbie however and don't know anything about the administration of these systems. Where did you get started?
