Thanks for taking the time to respond guys. I'm starting to think I should just wait on it. Personally it would be very encouraging if the MS employees would post here to help people out, not just the other consumers. We need input from both directions. Mainly I just want a Zune HD so I can write apps with it using C# and XNA, since you can't hardly develop for iPhone/Touch with a PC (no "official" solution to that...

honestly dont have a clue,? i've been fighting like hell trying to locate mine that has been lost in transit. but it was ups's fault it took 16 days for my package to be picked up and make it across town, but four hours to make it 300 miles? It kind of makes me wish i had an ipod now but what can you do.

You can buy points directly in the Zune software with a credit card, but these aren't "cards" of any kind. ?If you're looking for plastic credit card sized cards you can still buy those at Wal Mart and Best Buy or even Amazon.com I believe. ?These are redeemable for MS Points. I have an 8 gig unit that's doing the same thing.? Sometimes it turns on.? Most the time it doesn't.? Fortunatly I have an I Pod and a 30 gig zune as back up.? I'll be sending it in to be worked on.? Thanks everybody for the posts.? I dont feel alone with this problem anymore.

Good idea! MS already does it with the X-Box.  Maybe even do this with current Zune devices and not just the HD for the 'watch now' movies!

What I do is I first rip the DVD to my hard drive that way I have a complete backup of my DVD in case something happens to the physical Media (ie scratch).  Instructions can be found here:  http://lifehacker.com/355281/dvd-rip-automates-one +click-dvd-ripping   Then I convert the video to MPEG4 format...

I have the 30G zune too for a long time now i broke it once 2 years ago and got a new one for free because of my warranty from where i bought it (Costco).  Refurbished items can go either way such as yours is probably a poorly refurbished zune meaning broken.  My younger bro had the same issue it ...

in the favorites list, touch and hold the item you want to delete. you'll get a small menu with that option.

Are you using an external drive?  check that the drive letter hasn't changed if you removed and reattached it at some point.   Look at the monitored folder and zune folder settings in the software to verify the drive letters are still correct.

There is no infection vector that uses music content that I have ever heard of...  A virus is an executable (a 'program' in essence,) while content is only 'data.'  You could embed a virus into a data file, including music, but the application that played that content would have to be able to extract...
