Vibration ! ?

QUOTE (Hypersonik @ Dec 1 2009, 11:00 PM) Of you can cut them in half The spacers that is. (Has visions of Burnie 'burning' the drive shafts into two pieces) A good few reports I have seen on S2K about substandard replacement bolts on some spacers. Anyone know what brand?

Hardtop Weight?
Published (2009-12-01 14:44:00)
Depends on how your vendor packs it. He could use a box and packaging of 20kg, or 5kg or 30kg. It is the gross weight that is needed. Weight of a hardtop without packaging, I would look at internet and compare Roadster against GT weights ( the only difference being the roof ). But as per initial comment - you need the total weight.

QUOTE (Itchy Dick @ Dec 1 2009, 09:26 PM) Is the drive that different Mark? I've heard it's softer and the VTEC engagement isn't as harsh, is it like night and day? Yep, as the others have said it's VTEC and handling are more aggressive Just the interior isn't as nice and the plastic screen to deal with.

QUOTE (kitkat @ Dec 1 2009, 10:26 PM) it is. the 99/00 are very raw. They are more track focused, Honda revised the suspension in 01 as people who couldn't drive kept crashing.

Slicks
Published (2009-12-01 14:16:00)
Most tracks also require proper roll-over protection if you're using slicks i.e a roll cage. If you don't have one, then slicks are probably best avoided. The road legal track day tyres are probably a better bet. i.e Toyo R888 or Yokohama AO48.

QUOTE (Dan1987 @ Dec 1 2009, 11:52 PM) Anyone used both the R888's and the A048's to compare? I think Chilled has. A048s are certainly a lot more expensive than R888s

On a car like the s2000 with such a finely tuned engine, I'd suggest quite a lot. I certainly would never entertain buying an S2000 without FSH. For me, I'm not over picky about it being Honda, but at least a specialist or well recognised garage. Ultimately you are narrowing down the resell market considerably but the costs may be worth it for what you have saved DIY'ing.

ARB bush or drop link would be my first port of call. If you scroll down a 'few' pages in the UK Index Page, you'll find a thread of a similar nature by ShirleyTemple, plenty of useful info to be found there. HTH

Slicks bring with them other issues such as oil starvation. I'd advise a baffled sump minimum.

-16 seems a bit strange normal is probably - or + 5%, though those 2 figure combined dont. It does take time(a few weeks) to learn though LTFT wise. When are you monitoring on cold startup/coasting etc??? First off on cold startup, airpump comes on to heat CAT up, to get into closed loop quicker for emmisions so it will run lean when it gets warmed up it will go into closed loop then the LTFT...

Think i need a rear diff guys, either that or it's the gearbox. Was giving it sum in the rain, in first gear then BANG!!! and a loud grinding noise and no drive. Sounds like its coming from behind me so probably the diff. come to think of it, could it be the drive shafts? So, if anyone has had a similar experience that can confirm please do so. And, does anyone have a spare diff? Thanks ...

Hi all, Just a quick introduction and question. I have recently become a MY2000 AP1 owner and couldn't be happier with it. I bought it from 'Torque GT' in Devon who are a fantastic and I can highly recommend to anybody. I've had a few Honda's before, 2XATRs and 2XCRX's, all of which have been great but the S2000 is by far my favourite. It was previously owned by a current forum ...

and welcome. I can answer a couple of the questions for you, for what it's worth. Q2 = Yes that is what happens don't worry Q3 = If you want glass then I'm afraid it's a new hood. Otherwise you can get it repaired, someone on here will be able to point you in the right direction. Q4 = Bridgestone RE050A, most on here use them although there are others and I'm sure someone will give you...
