I suppose they'd have to sell the silver Vauxhall & buy A Blue Hansa.

E39 M5

QUOTE (chrisr111 @ Nov 20 2009, 04:29 AM) With the E39 being quite old now, I expect the chavs have no problem getting that stuff relatively cheaply from breakers/scrap yards. Chris. But they seem willing to throw plenty of money at these 'M5/M3' replicas, the E60 M5s reps I've seen around Sheffield have the grills in the front wings, the correct rear bumper with quad exhausts, replica wheels etc. Must spend thousands on them,...

Strange one that, usually its the otherway round. Closing factories in this country is as easy as opening supermarkets .

Bow before me, northern peasant! Seriously though, most of the houses where I live have sizeable garages, but most people seem to keep their cars on their driveways. I see lots of people driving with misted/frosted up cars on these types of mornings. Of course, getting up a few minutes earlier is another option that's rarely exercised when weather conditions will mean longer journey time is required.

E39 M5

the E39 M5 is stealthy you need to look for oval wing mirrors - possible to replace on a cooking version, but expensive - around £1000 a pair, even a single glass is £250 or the oval rear view mirror - v v difficult to replace and megabucks 'angel eye' headlights is a cheap mod and wasn't on pre-2001 facelift cars anyway I suspect owners see it as modding, the same way some S2000 owners see a single exhaust as modding...

If the immobiliser is built into the key itself, expect something close to £200. At least that's what a dealer wanted for a replacement key for my Alfa. Turns out £90 of that was labour for " reprogramming" the new key. My local independent got me the key for £100 and whilst he shouldn't have been able to reprogramme (as an Indy), he was ex-dealer and so had a mate he could ring for ...

I agree; it's probably these f uckwits dunno what the snowflake button is for. However, there is the phenomenon of wind chill, which means one can move from the stationary warm air mass on the drive into colder, damper air, which means the bugger suddenly steams up on you by third gear. Especially with an MPV full of damp, revolting kids. Anyone who uses their hand to clear a windscreen ...

Some of the M3/Z4M etc owners will be along to give you chapter and verse but if you find the S2000 expensive to run at times it is likely you'll find the E46 M3 eye watering... It does, of course, depend on what mileage you do and how long you intend keeping it. The subject has been discussed on a regular basis in the past - a search of this forum might offer you some opinions......

There are quite a lot of signs telling you when you enter the zone. I'm surprised you missed them really.

I had the AA gap insurance when I bought my Yamaha R1 brand new. IIRC cost me £200 for 3 years cover. Bike was 9 grand new. Well worth it IMO as I smashed the bike up and it was declared a write off. I got a payout of £6500 for the bike from my insurers and then sent off all the needed paperwork to make my gap claim and they ended up paying out a further £2700. Looks like when I sent my ...

Wonder why they badged it as a Lexi? Maybe better as a Toyota, at least they have some pedigree in racing and history of some fast stuff.

As much as i would love to see this happen, if only to see him beeten by Hamilton and Button it never will. This is probably just Merc trying to get some positive publicity out of loosing Button. Ferrari will never let him race for a competitor whilst they have a contract with him. My money is still on Heidfeld to get the seat at Merc.
