By image, he means an original summary image that goes at the top of your page, with some original joke. Every topic that has won the contest has had some original and humorous summary image to accompany the article and it's usually how Cracked markets the page. As for the picture they choose for the little box, that's up to editorial. You really don't have control over that.

This was an interesting and informative page, but I think the biggest problem is the complete lack of jokes. Cracked is a comedy site, and you'll need comedy. The only thing really funny, is the xkcd webcomic, which I think is in a legal gray area (since Cracked gets ad revenue; and also, if this does go on the front page, you get $50). Not an editor!

Don't hate me, but this is going to hurt. The page feels a bit wordy and informative, with less on the joke side (not like I can talk). It seems you have a formula, information, information, information, joke, new paragraph. Try to freshen things up mid-paragraph, maybe? After deconstructing your post and trying to make sense of it I believe you tried to adopt a topic that already existed, but you couldn't find the topic when you did a search for it. When someone adopts a topic they have 7 days to fill in the what is necessary for it to be published, my guess is that the topic you wanted is in the process between getting adopted and getting published. You can not...

We don't yet have a mechanism for taking away from a person if they've just thrown on a few sentences and walked away, but we'll get one. If you want to ask the person if you can take it over that's fine with me.

It's difficult to comment until you have an image up, since Topic pages anchor themselves on their images. Get the image up and you'll get more feedback. Check feedback on this forum room too since a lot of the feedback people get has been said dozens of times before.

What you have written is funny, but if you are going to keep the text to the minimum that you have you should try and get some more pictures in there. Also, you tend to kick ass when it comes to photoshop so you could probably make a better summary image.
