( You could use an estimate for that, although I probably wouldn't myself. You can create an invoice but change the "rate" or price to zero. Then you have an invoice in the system but for no charge, and it would show in the customer center just like any other invoice that you billed for. You can upgrade to Premier and use a "sales order", but I actually like the idea of using a zero-rate invoice...

( Hi Last Chance.   Go to edit and the pick preferences out of the list. Then pick the fourth one from the top called desktop view. Click on my Preferences tab and un-check the one that says "Show Live Community". ( According to Jullian Dearing on the Quickbooks blog the software was introduced in 1992. ( Thank you for that. I have since found out after posting this that QB is not in fact the solution we were looking for. Microsoft Office 2007 was going to be my choice but they have stopped the accounting services. So, back to the beginning for us! I will continue to write my own receivables program in the meantime. ( Yes you can but the 2010 is superior to all other versions. QuickBooks Pro is all you need to buy any version will do but 2010 has more gadgets. Look at Costco and Amazon to get the best deals.
