I started commenting on the images, but they're all so good, I thought I should be quiet and post something for better or worse. Honestly, this whole group of images are better than in a lot of challenges

Sigma's built-in flash is well known for being unreliable without first sending it back to Sigma repair for calibration--and that's with Sigma's own lenses. So you shouldn't be surprised if it's even worse with an M42 lens. In other words, what you're experiencing is "normal" for the SD14.

SD14 vs D90

As far as city lights, you are correct. I do not mean high ISO. I mean base ISO on a tripod. And of course, with long exposure Nikon becomes better again. But somewhere in between Foveon is good. I think this has to do with extreme contrast which are easier to render without extrapolation. By the way, I did this direct head to head with DP2 and EP1. So I am not really saying that you "should" use SD14, but perhaps it would be...

There is a mark on MF dial between 2m and 5m marks on DP2 - what is the focusing distance for that mark ?

The same to you Adam. Nice shot, but your pine needles look a little flatten. Must be lens distortion. Is that Ma in the chair in the background? Give her a Christmas hug for me. JohnW

I've figured something out. I really like the style of the photographers who buy DP cameras. Keep up the great work.

Thanks, Tony, for this information. tonekurv wrote: > Hi all. Richard F. alerted me to this discussion re: Lumix conversion lenses on the DP1. I don't have a copy of the 52mm version of the Lumix lens, but I do have the 46mm. I will try and post some samples on our website in the next couple weeks comparing the Lumix, Nikon, and Ricoh converters. > > Meanwhile, maybe I can help by at least supplying some dimensions...

Very muich so. Did post for them some time back but somehow, they seem to have slipped the net. We certainly all hope that all is well with both of them and if away for health reasons, that the New Year will see a big change in their fortunes.

Yes, i had it happen twice, worked after restart, yet at one time i ran out of free harddiskspace while using spp and some system setting broke, so it could not start. Then i created a new user and it worked in that, and since i wanted to change a few other things, i simply migrated to that new user and deleted the old, has been working fine since, and i keep an eye on having at least 5gb free ...

Becouse Foveon was an independent company before Sigma bought it and big companies wanted to make all in-house. With Foveon you needed to buy not only the sensor but also developer kit and software kit and I'm pretty sure big companies didn't wanna pay those fees. Also many companies had just built their bayer CCD/CMOS factories before Foveon came up and offered their sensor.

The appreciation of the first grow over the months, it was initially not my first choice of this series. The strong and straight lines turned out to work well IMO. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3599/3421393075_5b3 b2a6f86_b.jpg I love this one for three reasons: the first, it is my youngest son who was just able to stand up. The second, the emotion, the desire (it's a toy store). Third, the ...

I was out helping a friend and his son learn more about their SD9 cameras in different shooting situation. At one point a motorized hang glider flew over us and at another point a group of inland gull walked on the road in front of us. Interesting contrast. SD14 and the 150-500 OS lens. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2606/4197649547_bfe 8a1436e_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2647/...

What do you mean by "new"? It´s been around for some time and looking at Richard´s site it still seems to be the "old" one ;-) I´ve got one too and it´s very good! Recommended!

Don't worry about peaching to the converted. It's always good to be appling the theory. For the Canon G11, I downloaded the "ISO 80 real world shot" raw file provided with the review http://movies. dpreview.com.s3.amazonaws.com/canong 11/real_ISO80.zip I played with it in Picture Window Pro. Shocking how poor the image stayed after giving it all sorts of assistance. The sky and clouds were fine, ...

Nice shot Peter: You can almost feel the snow on the bushes and trees. Sorry I can not help with the software issue. Maybe if you post the problem image some our experienced Sigma photographers can help you. Thanks for sharing. Cheers,
