Last week I bought a Optio S, to compliment my Pentax gear, but the camera comes with a problem in menus (black menus) that I tried to solve with a firmware update. I found some instructions in the Steves-Digicams forum, and I followed the instructions with the Secret Menu -SYSTEM INITIAL option. Now I have a semi-died Optio S with an A90 error. It tests OK in Secret Menu, but presents A90 ...

I'm happy with my new W60. I did have a couple of pics where the left side of the image was not in focus, but this resolved itself by cycling the power off and on. I've learned to keep the ISO at 400 while kayaking, 200 just isn't fast enough at telephoto. Battery life was poor, until I quit letting the camera auto power off, and habitually turned it off manually. The camera has a ...

Hello everyone, My wife and I have been very pleased with our Pentax bodies over the past few months as we have collected a pretty elaborate array of lenses to play with. However, since we've never left the K and m42 mounts, I wondered if there were any advantages in trying some 6x7 format lenses as well? I found a converter for aprox. 80.00 on eBay and some of the longer 6x7 seem to have...

Hello Mirka: OK, in a nutshell: the K200D has a 10MP CCD sensor; the K20D has a 14.6MP CMOS sensor. In practical terms, if you shoot with a good lens, either camera will produce excellent 16 x 20 images... there are some who will suggest that you shoot in RAW format, and post process to achieve as close to identical reproductions of the original artwork as possible - this will take some ...

Can a tiny point and shoot take great close-up photos? Absolutely. Take a look at this hand-held shot captured in overcast light, with a Pentax A30, just after a rainstorm.
