I'll still shoot with the heavy duty DSLR but I'm definitely looking at some of those Olympus PEN and Panasonic cameras.I hate to haul around the heavy load.

No you don't need paper either, I can take a negative and reproduce with a digicam, you will be able to do this in 50 years. If you need photographic paper you can also make it with 3 or 4 simple chemicals. Film is easy access just hold it up to the light. > As for your arguement that a single scratch makes a CD unuseable...huh? Have you looked...

...is in the low speed portion. A film like Astia 100F and less than 1/2 the grain of its predecessor for example. Films like TMax, even in 35mm, have little to no grain at all at 16x24. Heck, in MF even TMY2-400 has virtually no grain at 16x20 or even 24x30. Going the opposite way, into specialty B&W, you can have 35mm blown up to 32x48 with absolutely no grain whatsoever. So, grain is there if you want it, and not if you don't....

You most likely suffered from mercury poisoning from the thimerosal used as a preservative in the flue dose. Did the person pull the dose from a vial with a needle? If so, you received a very toxic dose of thimerosal which has levels of mercury in it three times above what is considered safe. Its a crime. jfriend00 wrote: > I had a regular flu this summer. If you can explain to me how to get good tonal range in a JPEG small enough to post here, I'll be in your debt. The picture looks much better in print or in its native format.

It is certainly a large factory but I fail to see anything noteworthy other than the fact it is large. If you are fascinated by large factories, try taking a tour of an automobile assembly plant. The size in the video isn't /that/ remarkable.

Ha...That's like asking why a person would perfer blonds or brunettes. I like the look too but many won't. It looks like cross processed film.

Thats the question? Don't mean to insult you Robert, but I'd be happy if digital SLR's didn't have the video fluff to get in the way of manufacturers just 'focusing' on what dSLR cameras are meant for. Even if the quality were not up to par with film, I'd still run away from film. Think of the hassle of sorting and archiving negatives, the cost of developing film, the limitation of 36 frames, X-ray damage to film, aging problems, damage during processing, and so on.

I used to scheme all sorts of ways get the most for my mailing dollar. Folded pictures must be avoided, so a piece of cardboard inside was always a good idea. I eventually started using envelopes made from stiffened cardboard. It discouraged postees from bending it. Now, whether they charge extra for that type of envelope, I can't tell ya.

Still need my DSLR's for sports and other special assignments, so I doubt that I will ever give them up completely. But I am finding myself using my G10 more and more and when I don't need a DSLR, the G10 is what I grab to take along with me wherever I go. I love it's size, IQ and full manual controls plus RAW capability. It is very liberating to use the G10 and leave the DSLR's at home. : )...

Pentax K100D or K100D Super. Set it at fixed ISO 3200, then use a denoise program on the images. Works well. Its standard kit zoom should be OK and you can find used manual focus 50mm F2 for cheap, 1.7 or 1.4 not so cheap. (Get only an "A" series lens.)

scrutinise the photographer's portfolio and feel comfortable with the photographer, making sure that he/she will be discrete as and when you wish. ignore the price, look at results and professionalism, and take it from there. it may well be that a cheaper photographer will be better than a more expensive one.

Another poster here mentioned that over at the Leica forum, all the pix posted looked murky and at best of indifferent quality. I traveled there and while my observations can't possibly be a full survey of Leica, the pix I did see posted WERE of rather indifferent quality both as compositions and quality. They DID seem murky to me. Maybe my sample was poor, though. I saw a picture in a ...

Take a look at the movie " Manufactured Landscapes" by Burtynsky. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0832903/ In addition to being a cinematic jaw-dropper, it has one of the best opening sequences I've ever seen in a documentary. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4eLsRUbtBk
