Been a while! Snarked a Nikon d300 for only 1200USD and got a 16-85 darn nice cam and great price. Still have to canon glass and hoping the %d replacement is something special. Did a portrait shoot yesterday (first job in a couple years cause of my back) the nikon was easto use compared to my SLR/c which I just fixed and gave great results for the job. shot some kodaks side by side and...

I've been looking at D700 files lately, I swear that there's Kodak technology in those files. The problem is that I don't have a D700 RAW file to play with to confirm this. Any ways, what really scares me is the fine chaps in the Nikon forums. I never heard of fanboys until I bought my first DSLR. Where do they come from and why are they the way they are? It was always if you were a ...

Good grief, what a civic discussion. I think you all need to spend more time in the Nikon forums to be reconditioned. I think Rick's points are valid, and that one tool cannot meet all the needs of a photographer, and that you do need to upgrade your tools when needed. Frankly, I don't really need to upgrade to provide my customers better image quality. The customer will never see the benefits...

This shot encompasses the entire dynamic range of the camera and a lot more. Still, the noise appears to be lower than with the DCS Pro. What was the published difference between the DCS Pro and Pro 14N? Anyway, thanks for the raw file. This looks just like the DCS Pro, and I updated Rawnalyze; version 2.9.8.1 (just uploaded) is supporting the DCS Pro 14/N http://www.cryptobola.com/...

My 85 1.8 suffers from CA. I should have exchanged it, but I was persuaded by general opinion that it was because of putting it on a DSLR. I've had three versions of it anyway. The first and best was a non D version I used with my Nikon 801s. You've certainly got the best from it here. I don't understand why you haven't had more comments for your excellent work, but this forum was always quite...

Well, 16GB is too big for DVD dual layer and HD DVD single layer. It is also too small for Blu-ray single layer. So, I'd rather use 8GB cards, which should fit DVD dual layer very well. But I stick to 4GB because I don't know how common DVD dual layer is in photo kiosks and photo stores, so better to fit in DVD single layer.

Went out for a "therapy walk" with my Kodak. kept recalibrating every 2-5 pictures. Anyone seen this phenomenon before? will post if anything is worth it, really just my first walk since surgery. don't think i'd repair the kodak but still really like it billvann

Two points: I suspect they are DCR raw files. You need raw decoding software. Download Photodesk or use Adobe ACR to open. Do not, repeat NOT shoot jpegs with this camera. They are hopeless on the 760 and completely defeat the point of using the camera in the first place. This is a Raw camera. Shoot raw. -- Quentin http://www.brightnewlight.co.uk http://groups.yahoo.com/...

I've looked for, but can't find, an earlier thread describing necessary Nikon 28mm PC lens modifications for mounting on the Kodak (reducing the size of the shift knob as I recall). However, here is a more recent thread that might help some: http://forums.dpreview.com/... ...ssage=15970064&q=PC+lens+modifications&qf=m -- anotherrich

remains one of the best JPG shooters around. I used a S2 for a short while. Though new to digital [at that time] I could see little advantage in shooting RAW with that camera. From all I've read, subsequent releases haven't lost the JPG touch. Best of luck. -- Rick I've found life just doesn't fit in 1 camera or manufacturer vision.
