That is definitely a gamer machine. But it would work well for flash and video. I'd also look at the HP Z600 for a non-gamer model. TC

PC box recommendations

Hi Everyone, I'm a Mac guy, but I need to recommend a PC to management for inhouse video/flash work. It seems that all the PC's that I find to edit video and do flash all end up to be "Gaming" boxes. The one that I liked was from Alienware 'Aurora' (Quad core, big video card, fast drive etc.). No, I don't want to build a machine for work, just find one under 2k out of the box. All input would be appricated....

Sounds like a decent system. If you're multitasking a lot, you should probably get a 64-bit OS and start adding RAM. With the 32-bit OS you have now, you're stuck with a 4GB RAM limit.

I wouldn't touch them. Their FAQ tells you they send all the software out on DVD-R, that it's all Corporate editions and there's no need to register them. Basically they're selling pirate software. Do not waste your money.

Your mouse properties are still in Control Panel > Mouse for your scrolling, pointer, and other standard functions. However, your button programming options is dependent upon the type of mouse you have... your mouse probably has software to setup what the additional buttons do. It may be possible that your device doesn't have a Windows 7 driver yet. ...
