Will This Hardware be adequate...

Certainly. It will rock for audio and DV, and work well for SD. You will want media drives though. You don't want to run your media off of that one system drive. That will slow you down to a crawl, no matter how fast your cpu is. Looks like it has slots for additional SATA drives, I'd use them. My preference is Seagate, but you'll find other good deals at Newegg as well. Just make sure they are 7200 rpm or better, higher cache...

4 TB Raid Enclosure?
Published (2009-11-10 01:40:00)
Hello there, We currently need a 4TB back up for our Raid that we have for our Avid DS. We bought a 4tb graid but little did i know windows xp has a 2TB limit. As I was wondering why it only recognizes up to 2TB yet it sees our 4TB raid I thought it may be something like a software raid controller vs a hardware raid controller, and the 4TB Graid was in one enclosure and probably had a hardware raid controller. Anyways my thinking is we buy a...

You may be able to do without getting new hardware. Couple of options: 1. New OS, 64-bit. 2. Dulce systems has a way around this for their hardware, but should work just the same for a GRaid. http://www.dulcesystems.com/html/2tb_limit.html Basically setting up the RAID in 2TB blocks, then using Windows to span the volumes together so that they show up as a single drive. Good...

The font should still look fine. You may want to try resizing the frames in PS, then bring into FCP. What size are the original images exported out of PP? TC

That is strange. KB/Mouse/Monitor shouldn't cause that... Same RAM, cards in the same slots and everything? Absolutely nothing else different about that setup? Is there any Error or Warning events being recorded from the shutdown?

Hi Deb! I most certainly think you could get a laptop to do what you need. For both Desktop and Laptop systems, HP would be a good bet. I know many here will disagree, but I like Dell - before I started building PCs I had 2 Dells and I'm still using the Inspiron laptop (9 years old now). And the Dell monitors I would put up against most, I really like the monitors - their probably just Toshibas ...
