Keith,
You are getting the alarm because a drive has failed or been disabled by the controller. It's a good thing, provided by the RAID 3 protection mode.
First, mute the constant alarm by TAPPING the Mode Set Switch in the back. One press, that's it.
While the system is on, pull the failed drive # 2, replace with
a new drive, then initialize the reconstruction process by ...

Digitize your tapes, and transfer all your data to a disk array utilizing RAID. Use a protection level RAID like RAID 5 or RAID 6.
There is a plethora of storage options these days. Look at the advertising banners on the right and left of COW's page,
choose one of those great storage technology companies.

Please let me know asap,
Thanks !!!!

I haven't heard of, or done any testing myself with Snow Leopard. From my understanding, the new OS is based closely off of the original Leopard, so I do not see much changing that would impact the compatibility of any of the MediaVaault disk arrays. As long as ATTO or your
Host Bus Adapter card manufacturer releases drivers for Snow Leopard, I do not see why it wouldn't work.
It's a ...

It really depends if the system uses PATA or SATA drives. Only certain drives will work in those
arrays. The PATA version of the MV4210 can only use up to 500GB Hitachi Deskstar hard drives. The SATA version will take 1TB drives.
I can get you the part numbers, and a source for the drives. Let me know which style system you have.

So I got it working again using a combination of Disk Warrior and Disk Utility. Had to wipe it and then rebuild the raid. Another curve in
the learning curve! :-)
