Hi Leonard, The answer in both cases is no. I haven't heard of a way to stop capture and delete the clip at the same time. About the audio/video capture, there is not a way to set different capture settings in the same batch. Cheers, rafael www.nagavideo.com

MAKE SURE YOUR ARE UP TO DATE ON FCP 7 AS WELL ... I believe the new update puts you in 7.0.1. I Have ran into 2 issues ... but 7.0.1 fixed them. 1 - Stopped saving my project (great ... had to look online to save it somewhere else) 2 - Captured footage but deleted the Reel and TC info ... what fun. Good Luck. Other than that FCP 7 has some nice little upgrade features ... like Speed changing a clip. -Raymond Tuquero- Houston Based Freelancer...

Published (2009-11-24 06:05:00)
Nothing to fear with the scaling. FCP firstly reduces the vertical to take out the anamorphic and then zooms the pic back up to full frame. It might seem strange but it is effectively just stretching the horizontal. The vertical resolution remains the same.

Just the usual do a Clean Install of the OS and Studio. This is the first time we did an upgrade in the middle of a project. Feature documentary with about 200 hours of material. Did the upgrade mid stream after hearing that FCP 7 was the first version that was safe to upgrade mid-stream. All three of our systems have been upgraded and on all three we did the clean install. Zero issues related to FCP or the Kona boards. Walter Biscardi, Jr....

I was also wondering, if theres a small format that can be captured in Fcp6 or other programme direct, that goes into Pro-Tools. -So you'll skip the entire compressor-part.
Best!

Hi Martin,
Yes very expensive, but is the only way to bring a complex FC sequence to AE.
If you want to send a more basic sequence (cuts and don't know if something else), you may try this free script:
http://www.popcornisland.com/after-effects/final-c ut-2-after-effects/
Its works.

Hi Marten,
The 27" screen is really tempting, don't you think so?
If you are working in DV, DV50, HDV or XDCAM and your work it doesn't imply too many effects, layers etc, an iMAc may be a good solution. But the main problem I see with this kind of computers is that there is no way to expand or upgrade your hardware. Connexion are limited too.
So, buy an iMac only if you can not afford an...

Since you have no video monitor, your option is to burn the file to a DVD and check it out on a TV set.
And if you're actually getting PAID for this job, yet you feel you don't need the tools necessary to ensure the job is done properly, shame!

Hi Joe,
In FC you have a "Sharpen" filter.
I think you must be very careful when applying this effect. You need to monitor very carefully how it affects the picture. I think that the results may depends very much of the "robustness' of your footage.
Best,

Interesting ... because I am able to do that for Projectors. DVI Out to them for live shows that I do. And it even recognizes the Second monitor as a preview monitor that I can use with Final Cut.

Hi Sascha,
i guess may be your GPU.
I can not use MBL at 1080 with 10b.
If I want 1080 it must be 8b.
Same happens with the fXplugs.
I get a warning: Your GPU..

Hi Brandon,
At first sight it seems that the clip is interlaced but is being played with the wrong field order.
Give a bit more of info about the footage, sequence, etc.

If you don't really have to be portable, trade the laptop for a tower, and you'll not only have a lot more expandability, you'll have a TON faster machine... just read this:

Note just how much faster the tower I have was than the laptop... you're times will be faster on that 15 but not by much... maybe 20%? but the...
