Xena LH Drops Frames in HD Playback
Published (2009-12-15 21:00:00)
Well, we downgraded to PPRo CS3 and the 3.5 AJA drivers, and on the same hardware/setup, HD 1080 clips playback perfectly. So, something must be up with PPro CS4.2.1 and the AJA 4.2 drivers. I'm not going to worry about it right now. I'm just happy it works. Thanks. -- James Orlowski RYNO Production, Inc. www.rynoproduction.com 800-860-7966

LHi Firmware Update failed?Help!
Published (2009-12-17 23:45:00)
When the firmware updates, I believe it removes your current driver (because you'll need to install again with the new firmware.) I'd recommend starting the computer, find the card in the device manager and go through the typical "add new hardware" steps including getting a driver installed, etc. TimK, Director, Consultant Kolb Productions,

Xena LHe horrible performance...
Published (2009-12-21 21:37:00)
Hi, guys! 11 days ago I bought a beautiful new Xena LHe. The card works great with AE CS4, Nuke 5.2 x64, Fusion 6 x64. Not with Premiere 4.2. After creating an AJA sequence the app becomes almost unresponsive and extremely laggish. The playback window shows weird artifacting. AJA's tech support wasn't helpful at all. Basically, I was told smtn like: "Well, we don't know, keep trying and let us know what you find..."...

By chance, have you tried to install CS3 on the new system with the old drivers to see if you could make frame rate?

The Quadro cards are on the list for compatibility reasons as well as power... I'd advise you to pass on installing a gamer card in a system you'll be depending on in a professional environment...
As far as configuration, you'll have the biggest bottleneck at the drives. Just because you can hang 4 GBit FibreChannel on a machine doesn't mean the drives will be able to ingest it all.

I can't confess to know the solution to all your problems but I had HUGE problems with the AJA 4.1.3 drivers and Premiere CS4.
The "AJA setup button" problem was a known issue and is now fixed in the newly released 4.1.4 AJA drivers.
I suggest you update to these immediately and see how your other problems pan out.
The Machina problem you suggest, where you have no picture in ...
