I'm knitting a scarf for a friend's toddler grandson (2-3 years old). It's with a eyelash yarn no size 8 or 9 needles. I'm not sure how wide to make it, or how long, and trying to find out from Google made my head hurt. About what measurements do you knitters recommend?

So the other day I took the girl out to do some night-shooting with her. It was a lot of fun, but we didn't actually get that many shots because we had to be somewhere about two hours after we started, and the exposures were ridiculously long. But she was a pretty great model, and was able to stand still for much longer periods than I was. props to Diana for letting me steal her tripod. ...
