Having the girlfriend over for the weekend and letting my friends fill up my weekend schedule has not been conducive to keeping my word count where it should be. I did sit down last night and spat out 1000 words in the course of a half hour though. Which I wish would happen more often! I'm still behind by a little over a day, but I have to say I'm feeling pretty good about it.

I'm not going to completely give up. I'm going to try another story idea. Different variations of the story have been running around in my head and I want to give it a shot. I'm going to shot for 25k so I'm not too rushed.

I was gone all weekend and as such all writing was done in my head.

7291. About 1000 words behind where I ought to be, but I still have all day tomorrow to catch up, if I can find the time. Work's still coming first, though. My novel isn't really flowing too well at this point. Whenever I get to a point that's giving me trouble, I drop it and go to a more interesting part to write about. This is good for keeping me interested in writing, but it's making the text very disjointed. Restraining...

Teehee, thanks everyone. I'm really proud of that costume. It's been a dream project for several years, and it's sort of crazy how I suddenly decided "Fuck, I'm doing it this year, no turning back. Oh shit wait Halloween is in only 2 months " I kept track of the time I spent on this (not counting researching and planning, only actual work). 55 hours and 25 minutes, over 2 months. I'm gonna have a...

Lagging behind at roughly 2,500. Not ready to give up the fight yet though. We'll see what today brings. __________________ Memories how they fade so fast, Look back there is no escape.

20k. Got a new project, though, so I'll probably have to drop out after finishing the first NaNo.

I'll be doing it again this year. It's a great writing exercise, and I've come out at the end with both partial and full rough drafts. My first attempt ended up about halfway through the story (it was longer than I'd originally imagined) while still making the 50k goal, and the second one came out complete. For my second year I worked off of a key plot/notecard system, and I think that's what I ...

First of all, I want to say congratulations. You've come a long, long way from the Year Zero fan-film we saw a while back. To be totally honest I wasn't expecting much when I clicked on the link but I was very pleasantly surprised. It's creative and very well-executed. Great work! Was this shot in front of a green screen with the glowing white added later, or in front of a back-lit silk? ...

Here's the recipe for my favourite italian dish ever, and an old favourite to most people, Bolognese ragu, I learnt the proper recipe in Bologna, and now I'm bringing this shit to you guys, it takes a long time to cook but once you got the hang of it it's easy to make and doesn't require much attention after the first few steps. Wow! Very nice work. =3 Nice and crisp. I've always been curious about the Cintiq myself. I can't afford one so I'm not really shopping for one, but I still wonder about them periodically. It seems like drawing on one would be a really cool experience.

I think leaving the club open and not maintaining a membership list that's required to post is a great idea. It may take some of the pressure off and relieve the "Oh, but I can't make that deadline..." feeling. I also think the new prompt every Sunday is a lovely idea. I don't think the randomness of having whomever gets there first posting the new prompt is so hot however. You run the risk...

I think you should know a few things before you commit to this project. Never say "you're in this for the art." The first reason anyone gets into an art related field is for the art. If you want someone to spend time on this, give people incentive. I would really recommend changing your ads to say "I can offer no monetary compensation now but you get X% if this is published, and X amount of...
