I have had experience in various adjustments associated mainly with going to heavier gauge strings, with no problems. However I'm reluctant to dress frets(particularly on my Les Paul!). Can anyone recommend someone in the Lincolshire area who could evaluate what is needed, and do it. Recently I purchased my first high quality acoustic guitar, which can be viewed HERE! . I live in Southern California in the US, and humidifying this guitar is on my mind. I have read and been told that the level of humidity to maintain is 40%-70% (please correct me if this is incorrect). After figuring out the Rel Humidity of where I live, the year average was 40% in the ...

Hi All, Has anyone used one of these? I have just done a trial with it and I have initially found that the mic'd sound of the guitar played direct sound fuller and more dynamic than the same part re-amped through this with exactly the same signal chain. Any thoughts? Sam

I'm really excited about the imminent release of the Line 6 Tonecore developers kit as there is some FX ideas I have had which I don't think are easily creatable using conventional units. I had some experience with object oriented programming quite a long time ago but I'm wondering if anyone can recommend any books / reference materials so that when this thing is released I can ...

OK ... I admit it ... I gave it a whirl during the week. My nephew is scarily good at it, so I've just loaned him a proper guitar and practice amp and am hoping that that will stop him being so smug! Anyone out there tried it? How do you get on? Me, my timing sucks - I'm often slightly ahead of the beat so keep missing things. Maybe it might be good for me to tighten up a bit then.....

My preference for traditional 6 screw Strat-type bridges is to get them flat on the guitar body and either physically block them or tighten up the springs to keep the bridge from tipping forward when I bend strings. I was wondering if anyone out there had tried the same process with a 2 point trem, something like the current Fender USA or Wilkinson bridges? Any hints or tips? Any ...

This is my first post on the forum hope someone can help. I'm thinking of building a speaker cab possibly 2 x 12 is there any reason why I can't use two different speaker models in the same cab. my thinking is for tonal options when recording, possibly a greenback and a blue. any ideas? thanks

I recently bought a yamaha Fg335 with a fishman natural II pickup fitted in the bridge. All seemed fine for a few days but then the sound started to cut out. I traced the problem to the fact that pressure on the sixth string at the bridge was the cause. If I slightly lift the string at the bridge, it works. So if I keep the string slightly less tight (i.e. not quite in tune!) it works. ...

Hi, For live gigs I use a fender twin amp and a Gibson SG guitar. My only pedal is a boss blues driver. But the problem is that my distorted guitar sound still sounds a little small and thin. What sort of pedals should i buy to help make my guitar much beefier? Some sort of tone pedal or compressor? I'm a bit of a newbie!! Dave.

I've never really had tuition past grade 5 or so when I went to music school but spent most of my time pissing around and chasing girls.. I want to improve my applied theory, technique and improvisation skills but I'm unsure of what I need to look for in a tutor? Theres a guy advertising by me but his style of playing is more folk and I'm more blues and rock. Would/ Could that work? ...

Hi everyone, im relatively new to music recording as im only 16 but ive been recording since about 12 with whatever gear I could pick up. The TT is more geared towards a sort of bluesy overdrive than clean. I might be tempted to get something a little cleaner and a couple of pedals...say a Keeley mod Tubescreamer or similar. J -------------------- Nothing is just nothing Space is other people trying to be quiet
