yeah, that was unfortunate, I wish she had stayed. She had some good insights even though some of it went over my head sometimes.

I took a long this morning but got out before the news for 21pips out of the 150 or so on offer! Damn. Anyway, I'm on a sell right now from the 4hr upper bollinger and 1.66 resistance area. Not quite sure what's going to happen on NY open. Edit: ...and PA just keeps going. what a day!

Right click the trade history tab then select either Save as Report — this saves the account history as a HTML file. A dialog window will appear allowing you to select the folder where the file will be saved. or Save as Detailed Report — The detailed report works the same, but contains additional information. Both contain open and closed trades, and both can be printed, or imported to Excel etc

Is Forex a Zero−Sum Game?

I think the short answer would be 'yes'. However, does that take into account any one of a million factors that may cause a currency to devalue relative to another? What is the net affect of monitization of debt like the US is doing now by printing money? Will take someone with a lot more expertise than I have to answer that.

Heya fhr88,
I haven't heard anything about your broker before, but I suggest you to ask the same question in forum part called "rate my broker". I think there are more broker experts there
Thank you,
Albinas

Great question! I too plan to become a full time trader (in about 2 years) after I retire from my current profession. During that period of time I will be honing my skills, proving my method, and accumulating trading capital. I plan to trade a large account because I do not want to feel the need to take unnecessary risks to get a 30-40% monthly return. My goal is a consistent, 10% per month. That...

Thought I'd start this thread based on some conversations elsewhere in the forum. The idea is to base intraday trading decisions on bollinger bounces and moving averages. I would like to focus on GPBUSD for the moment though this is easily tradeable on most of the majors. This is a well kn own method but I thought this thread would be helpful to show examples and any problems that arise....

Just a quick reflection before posting my system:
After making quite a few pips on the EUR/USD over the last few days movement, I closed that trade yesterday and later opened another trade that seemed good:
EUR/CHF sell at 1.5727 approx 2400 GMT+1
However this morning as I checked, the trade was going against me and i decided to close it, thinking that it was a case of overtrading on ...

I'm glad to be the first one to reply here. Just by chance I checked the old thread and found about the news. I want to thank you for your good work so far, Tymen. I hope this new thread will bring some more light as the other ones did in the Forex misty jungle.

I think your being realistic, even pro traders use 2X and 4X leverage so zero to 10:1 seems pretty solid.
I would think long and hard about investing $20K into your account though. If and when you can consistantly build up your account with the initial $1K you mentioned you really should not need to invest more. By compounding up your account balance you will add to the balance quickly ...

The Central Bankers print the money and set the initial "price".
Everyone else in the market fights over the "price". Good luck.

Yeah. I might be wrong. Let us examine this situation. If Boxer A and Boxer B was in the market or the boxing ring.
STATS:
Boxer A hits only one deadly punch with all his might per round.
Boxer B likes to use money management and use 2% to 5% of his strength only.
QUESTIONS:
Who do you think will be knocked out???? Who do you think will win????

Holy grail for me is a usage of indicators which have at least 80% win/loss, 1/3 risk/reward, able to be used at any time of day, and applicable on all time frames and all currencies.
Anyone know of anything like that? lol

Hi Mike
If I understand correctly, At a reversal you keep your position open and enter a second position in the opposite direction thus hedging your trade. From that point on your profit is frozen as any loss from one position is compensated for by a gain in the other

Among all the people who trade but are not professional traders,
what is a "normal" amount of pips to gain in a week ?
would 250 pips in a week be considered low, average, or high for the average day trader at home ?
The reason I am asking is because I have gained over 500 pips per week, for the last two weeks in a row, trading demo, with about 100 pips lost per week.
I have ...
