I will wait a while and try another dealer. However, if no damage is caused by this noise, I would rather live with it.

Yes that's with using the IR gun. I was in Harbor freight today and they had the same type of gun for $ 39.99. They also had gauges c/w senders for 20.00 bucks that may work for transmission temp range. The best one was a water temp gauge but I think I could keep track. That's why I'm waiting for HOPEFUL for a progress report. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone below the 49th parallel

2010 Escape - No Gas Cap
Published (2009-11-30 20:34:00)
IIRC. Ford started using cap-less on the 2009 Escape and the 2010 Fusion Hybrid. I only go in for fuel once a month, but so far, I kinda like the new cap-less refueling. (I always use Self-serve). But, if you go to a full service station up there in the frozen north, you better check the rearview to make sure the pump jockey closed the little hatch..

Hello Bill, Thank you greatly for this information, it is exactly what I needed. It not only confirms things I was being cautious of; but it also helps me plan for the "...rocker panel moulding retainer clips are one-time use only" before I get it all torn apart in my garage. Sincerely, Larry

find a code scanner that will show you the "live data", you can sanity-check the pressure reading it is reporting with info from the local weather outlet and/or with a vacuum gauge. Typically if the sensor is suspected, there are some quick checks that can be done with a multimeter to see if there is a short or open circuit at the sensor or harness to the sensor, or incorrect impedance in the ...

What happened with your starting issue? Did you eventually take it to Ford to have it repaired? Were you able to determine what was done to resolve the issue? I have a friend with a very similar issue. She has gotten the diagnoses of it being a 'cold start' (whatever that is) to a fuel issue. This past weekend I tried to help her start her 01 Escape, but it seemed that something was ...

You're awesome man. I just bought a 2001 escape that has this light burnt out and was dreading having to replace it. I looked all over the web to find info on it and here it is. I've taken dashes apart that are absolutely awful, but this seems very simple. Thanks again!

Mine was imprinted on a card within the owners manual. I am not sure if they would print it anywhere else. You can add another code in addition to the factory one. Just call the dealer to get the instructions if you don't have a manual.

I posted my problems under '09 Escape Transmission. I wonder if you also have an output bushing failing? It would cause a lot of heat, which in my case burned the oil, and also in doing so would be causing the output shaft to become hard to turn, resulting in the downshifting, etc that you are experiencing. Ford did not find any problems on the computer either nor did it act up for them when they...
