Have you referred to the
glove box manual? I don't have access to mine just now ... but I believe I remember that the Escape is to towed only a very short distance with wheels down ... in an emergency situation. Could be wrong.

Mine was imprinted on a card within
the owners manual. I am not sure if
they would print it anywhere else. You can add another code in addition to
the factory one. Just call the dealer to get the instructions if you don't
have a manual.

Why do you want a gas cap? Ford spent a lot of time an money to engineer it. Personally I like the idea...no more gas caps forgotten on top of the pump

It would cause a lot of heat, which in my case burned the oil, and also in doing so would be causing the output shaft to become hard to turn, resulting in the downshifting, etc that you are experiencing. Ford did not find any problems on the computer either nor did it
act up for them when they...

No vibration while the car comes to a stop at uphill or downhill road.
Could it be the
ATF level problem? Anyone has the same feel?

What happened with your starting issue? Did you eventually take it to Ford to have it repaired? Were you able to determine what was done to resolve the issue?
I have a friend with a very similar issue. She has gotten the diagnoses of it being a '
cold start' (whatever that is) to a fuel issue. This past weekend I tried to help her start her 01 Escape, but it seemed that something was ...

The blades must be frozen.
Did you switch to a winter type of washer fluid for when the temperatures drop below freezing?
