I gave up for the day, but also because of Thanksgiving lunch and the family came over. I can't get the EGR tube off of the EGR solenoid on the back of the intake manifold. It's rusted on there good. I might just have to go buy a new EGR solenoid from Ford tomorrow.

When is boost not noost?
Published (2008-11-26 19:30:00)
I believe you are still getting the 6lb of boost because you don't have all of the restriction with the stock headers so now the exhaust is able to move freely, i am going to have the same problem when i put headers on my explorer with the x-charger on it.

Believe it or not, I have a 5 foot long 1/2 in drive extension that works on that bolt. You snake it in from WAY back with a wobble socket. I bought the extension to unbolt bellhousing bolts on 4WD vehicles when I had to rebuild the trans. Tighten both bolts together, but make sure the inside gets snugged first. That way when you finish up on the outside bolt, the flange tension will actually "tighten" the inside bolt for you...

Take the spare out from underneath it and ditch it if you have roadside assistance. If not, throw it in the back of the truck. Also I know there is a spare tire mount thread on here somewhere for mounting it in the cargo area. Use the search for that if thats something you would be interested in.

SCT tuning

Some people said that their transmissions shifted a lot smoother, and their idle speed was more on the steady side after the tune. I'm sure that it will improve over all performance, and gas mileage.

No mufflers or glass packs? Either way that thing needs a muffler, bad! It could sound sooo much better. Unless you like that '40s lowrider sound from an SUV. Good luck this weekend with the rest of the mods. All of that should make quite the difference!

Well as I posted in my "OCD" thread I installed my billet grille the other day and well I have a problem. I went to start measuring for my CAI today while waiting for the wife to finish cooking and low and behold. I can't get my fingers in the grille to pop the hood. HOW do I get the hood popped without having to stick a flathead in the grille to release the hood latch? The grille I ordered came ...

Earlier today I tried to get a 1 In /2 Out Flowmaster(40 series) for my Sport 2door, the only thing that stopped progress was that damn spare tire mounted underneath the ass end of the truck. Can someone point me in the right direction on what to do about the spare? I really want two guns out the back but concealed behind the bumper and with the tire there I dont see a logical way of that ...

Okay...I am going to remove the dash out of my `97 X, and swap it into my `92.... I am also swapping over to EATC, and adding the Console Computer while it's out, and since I am also pulling the HVAC box, I am replacing the Blend Door... Couple of OTHER questions for you guys... Is the Dorman Blend Door built any better than the OEM door? Or does it suffer the same weak spot ...

I think my AWD case is going bad after 300,000 miles. Yesterday driving it was very hard to turn the steering wheel unless I depressed the accelerator, then steered fine. I have the transfer case from my 2000 5r55e replacement and it only has 6000 miles on it. Has anyone looked at using this as a replacement? I have looked at the 4406 manual write up and considering this after winter. ...

I can't the get collector bolts loose for the life of me. The outside one on the passenger side, I rounded the head off. The inside one I tried for awhile with no luck... the drivers side I can't budge. Granted, I'm using only hand tools. Tomorrow I will try an impact gun. Also, I broke several of those stupid small hard vacuum lines just by looking at them. Argh.
