That's not too bad of a price. I think i paid about $1000 for the front and $500 for the rear to be done back in '05. They may give you a better price if you bring the front pumpkin and rear axle in by themselves (IE not under the truck) and partially disassembled.

I think the key for it is to not hang down far enough to block or make approach angles awkward but to also make it out of thick enough metal that it wont' act like tin foil on a rock. As for mounting points I think it depends on your setup, probably from the frame rails do some place past the front suspension near the tranny? Idk. ...

If it is actually cut to fit an explorer tha mor than likly they had custom shafts built for it and if that is true then getting one from ur truk is prolly not gong to. If its from an
early bronco 66-77 then maybe its not shortened and u can buy parts from a Bronco supplier.
You could be looking at a preety penny for a custom shaft to have a custom built for ur shortenedaxle so dont pay too ...

Yup, its always the stupid gas caps. The o-ring likes to dry out and crack. I usually put
petrolium jelly or grease around the o-ring before going in. Emissions are still good for 2 years here (NM) on my 91

I suspect you may just need a set of coil spacers to boost the suspension up some for correct
wheel alignment (Skyjacker coils are known for coming up a bit short sometimes). These spacer donuts go underneath the lower coil spring seats.
A longer drop pitman arm is also available for the steering linkage as well if you need it (Skyjacker pt# FA600). At 4" lift this arm shouldn't be absolutely ...
