I should have said IAC voltage. Some manufactures call it that, You were checking the voltage I mentioned. Cleaning the throttle body is fairly easy. Take the hose off, open the throttle and clean the area inside. You can also take the IAC valve off and clean it too. Don't forget the MAF.

The running compressor is used for preheat and defrost over ride. It should not run in " heat " or " vent ". Pulling the fuse could set an engine code and shut down your engine cooling fan. Not recommended. Get it fixed if you can.

It would just unplug compressor. Have you tried using the vent setting? The compressor should not run in that position. (one notch to the left of off)

No engine codes. I haven't messed with the idle screw, either. I'm a little hesitant to get into the throttle body though, because I've never played with one before. Sounds like cleaning it is a good start. Dumb questions, but what is the "bypass passage?" And how do I go about cleaning the throttle body? Thanks for the thoughts.

Does the radio for a 2000 mercury sable, the one with electronic/digital heater controls below it, have RCA in-puts on back for the optional cd changer?

No. I'm not sure on the vehicles with a full console (because around 2000 redesign, the changer was moved to the inside of the console) On 6 passenger cars (changer in trunk) the changer plugs directly into the rear chassis unit (actual radio...

3.0L OHV flex fuel exhaust valve
Published (2009-12-15 16:12:00)
I am trying to locate an exhaust valve for a 3.0L OHV flex fuel engine. I ordered one from the dealer but got the wrong size valve. The diameter of the valve was 1.37" and the one that is in the car is 1.66". Ford only shows one part # for an exhaust valve for this engine. Has anyone run into this problem?

Have you checked for codes? Autozone will do it for free. The coil could possibly be bad even with the readings showing okay.

it is possible just swap in all sensors. might need some machining. also cap over distributor hole and add cam sync sensor.
one thing you may want to check first is if the cam position sensor is bad on the old engine that part being replaced may fix the problem because if the gear at the end of the sensor goes or starts to go the oil pump quits spinning. your oil pump may still be ...

If it has disc brakes, remove rear disc brake caliper from rear disc brake adapter and hang out of way with a piece of wire. Remove rear disc brake rotor, wheel hub, rear wheel disc brake shield, and rear brake anti-lock sensor.
If it has drum brakes, remove brake drum and wheel hub. Remove four bolts retaining brake backing plate to the rear wheel spindle. Remove brake backing plate from ...
