Take it to the dealership where you bought it (or the nearest Ford/L/M dealer) & complain. Keep all the documentation.

Since you're seeing a #6 missfire code, I'd pull that plug to see what it looks like and check the coil boot. If all looks good, switch the coil for another one that's easy to get to and see if the missfire follows.

go to a site where you can run the Vin number. itll tell you everything that came with the truck assuming that the engine has not been replaced or pulled. if thats the original stock motor. you should be able to run the vin and iutll tell u. if not, take it to a
ford dealership, they can identify it for you

I just had a valve spring "break" off and ruin the piston. I have to replace the engine for $5,000ish. Only have 48,000 miles on this
Ford Explorer. Let's see if Ford offers me any help. My dealer is trying to make that happen for me.

If it slightly decreases from cold, it could be an exhaust leak. See if you can tell if it come from a particular side.
