The idler arm could be the noise. That's why you could disconnect everything as andy said and see what makes it stop. What part of the swaybar did they say needed replacement?

Vacuum hoses - Page 2 - Ford...

Hey thanks for the diagrams. They were much easier to see than the ones in my book. I finally got my car started and realized that I do need that canister hooked up. It idled really erratic until I hooked it up to another vacuum line. I think it draws up the fumes up from the gas tank and helps burn in the combustion chamber. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I have a video of the first start up that I will post later and show you what I...

Pouring down today, so couldn't do much outside. So, I had a look at the seized AC compressor. Had to pull the field coils off with a puller after removing a sad looking hub This is the view when it was removed (or when part of it came loose!) Don't think I can fix that! And, just to add insult to injury, when the centre shaft of the compressor is turned it is really rough. So thats the end of that then! Put that to one side for the...

I forgot about, but just saw this again regarding a actuator door "reset" on this forum: 2001 Crown Vic Climate Control Fix but sadly, in my case I know it didn't work, because the battery was dead for days before we got the car. AND, when I fixed it the first time I had the battery disconnected for hours while I was taking apart the glovebox for fear or setting off the airbag.

Power Seats

Ok thank you. I guess my best bet would be to try to locate a set of manual seats. is there a specific year range that will bolt into my 2000?

OK. Here is what I have found. I can get it started now after a while. I can tell there is a different sound when starting and running...It is missing.
The driver side exaust gets FIRE hot in no time including manifold, cat, and exaust gas is blowing out tailpipe.
The passenger side does not get that hot, and does not appear to be blowing anything out tailpipe?
What gives? Pluged ...

In most cases, the O'rings leak. After 13 years, I'd replace the hoses. There are 2 of them held in by the same bolt on each end. All the hoses I've done were all black. Someone may have changed them to an aftermarket. They come out easily and the only oil you'll get is what's in the hoses.

For code P0118, Typical Signal Values:
Compare Voltage To Temperature;
Circuit testing requires voltage so the first step is to compare sensor signal voltage to actual engine temperature. 176° F signal voltage is 0.78 V with 212° F voltage at 0.60 V.
If voltage doesn’t match engine temperature, disconnect sensor and do the open circuit test. Open Circuit Signal Check : Check for 4.6 to 5.0 ...

There's no wiring in the door for the power seat. The seats will switch but the seatbelt buckle is different. You could get another P71 that had power seats and use it but they'd probably be pretty worn. There is a plug under the seat for that kind of seat. I like the buckets, and my seat is powered. I added a universal console that fits a van and it works great. Look down about 4 posts and ...

Spotted on ebay in Abergavenny, South Wales. About a 3 and a half hour drive away from myself in Derbyshire.
Looked good in the photos, sounded good over the phone when spoken to the very nice gentleman who owned it. Obviously this would be bought unseen and uninspected, but a 19 year old car has to have some defects, so lets take a chance!
The owner said the AC belt had shredded and hadn't ...
