mtx or atx???

The SPI and Zetec 4F27E actually does bolt up. What kind of shifter does it have? That'll tell you which tranny you've got -- if it has five speeds listed on top, you've got a MTX. If it has P/R/N/D/2/1 listed on the bottom, it's an ATX. Open your hood and check which engine you have, though. It's easy to figure out -- it should say it right on the valve cover.

Which Plugs and Wires for Tune Up?
Published (2009-12-01 20:41:00)
I have only had good results going to metal wound hybrid core wire, such as the taylors that are oh-so-popular on the forum. OEM wires are the cheapest thing that will do the job... actually all car parts are the cheapest thing that will do the job for the expected "life" of the vehicle which is about 3-5 years... consistent with the power-train warranty. but things like plugs and wires are considered consumable and exempt...

get it low where the gas light comes on, maybe throw in a lil oct booster and then fill 'er up with premium. I use 93 oct and get really great gas mileage over using 91. plus its only like 1.00$ more per full tank lol.
Driving with regular gas is really bad.

yup, fairly common, you need a new wiper relay, which (fyi at least) goes on the main fuse box under the dash. You can pick one up usually at your local auto parts store.
I STILL have not gotten a relay, and I was at the junk yard yesterday!!
edit: OH to FF though! :)

o.o I have relays comin out of my wazooo XD $5+ship
granted may not be new but there tested and fully workin with a 30 day
upon further checking the relay only controls the intermittent option it doesn't operate it on full run.. switch the rear for the front and see if it works fixing your park problem if it does not you need a new front wiper motor... there are occasional problems with ...

First you have to determine the motor. Does the valve cover say "split port injection" or "Zetec" ?
Once you have that figured out, you'll know what transmission to get. The manual transmissions for these two motors are different and IIRC, the atx, while the same internals, do not bolt up.

sounds like either you got a vac hose leak on the vac pipe going from the side of the air box to the rocker cover (cam cover) if it is this there is an easy fix just use some duct tape or gaffer tape to seal it up.
or if thats ok then you may need a new mass airflow sensor (goes in between the air box and the engine.

nah if you dropped a seat your engine would go crunch not rattle
and I thought focus's were supposed to get 5w20 ??? thats what my oilcap and what they put in my car today was ?!?!?!?!?!? that rattle may be from the fact the oil is to thin for that engine??
if your going to do plugs and wires may i recommend using factory parts my engine throws absolute fits with aftermarket wires and plugs...

It could be as simple as the car is just low on brake fluid. It may not be related to the key at all. Post back with your findings.

I had similar symptoms happen to me, too.
Check for electrical faults somewhere. In my case, it was a bad factory splice on the positive ring terminal in my Ford foglight kit.
Our transmissions are affected by this because they're electrically controlled.

the recommendation for plug wire connection has been asked a few times, a search might yeild something useful.
lebanon, im assuming OH? not the middle east? is it colder now? are you using the windshield defrost?
I dislike autolite, i think they look like _rap. use the ford OEM. would have to say the same about the wires. but have no direct experience with BWD.

it sounds like you have a duff thermostat. take it out and place it in a cup of boiling water out of a kettle, it should open. if not theres ur fault.
it could also be a blockage somewhere between your engine and heater matrix. go to your local motor factors and buy some coolant system flush.
flush your coolant system.

You're apparently in uncharted territory. Yes it could be the lock solenoid. Can you open it with the button in the back? To do this I have to unlock all the doors, open the hatch with the button on the key fob, then there's a button under the sill in the rear that I can push to open the car. I'm having the dash button issue- but I'm not replacing it yet. It's no big deal to me since I hardly ...
