If you are in the US you could goto Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Tuesday Morning, or Ross brick and mortar store and pick up a Wenger, Delsy, Samsonite, etc for around $50-60 or something like American Tourister for even less. TravelPro and TUMI are really good and durable, if you will be traveling a lot later. Essential stuff: Passport, air ticket, wallet, make sure your credit card are in good standing, it's gonna give you a hard time if they decline when you travel. Clothes you need.
