I personally would never choose AA over LAN, but that´s just me. I noticed a radical difference in the quality of the food between that catered in Lima and Miami in J on the Lima-Punta Cana flight. The Peruvian food was good but the Miami fare was disgusting.

My flight to BOS was 2/3rds full! According to announcements made on that day the YUL flights were delayed due to de-icing, and an EWJ flight went mechanical and was merged with the next flight. Now, maybe becuase I was seated closer to an engine but I did not find the Q400 any quieter or more vibration-free than Jazz's old Dash 8s! The overhead bins vibrated in the same manner, and the overall noise level was no different to me. Seated...

Mexicana status match
Published (2009-12-04 13:43:00)
Received this from MX today, looks like they are now a no-go! ~ I inform you that at the moment there is no agreement with any airline for the Status equivalent with us, so you will start as a Welcome member if you join our program. Plus, Mexicana is not partner with Continental. We are barely starting with One World Alliance and still have many agreements to accomplish.

pswissoz...enjoy the trip. As i said, the seat is excellent, so you won't be disappointed there. the food and service could use improvement...but the seat is really more important to me on a long flight. one other thing to note, despite this link ( http://www.lan.com/info_viajes/clase...ess-en-us.html ) touting the new premium business saying that they offer down comforters, the blankets on the SYD-AKL-SYD segments were wool throws....

I suppose the points accumulated for upgrade are miles actually flown. The total points you have include those plus the bonus you get for being fidelidade vermelho, which is 50%.

Thanks for your replies. For the longest time, I thought it was LAN as in LAND, but apparently the appropriate pronunciation is LON (in Spanish). phlashba, that's interesting that there are actually 2 ways it's pronounced in the videos. Maybe either is right after all! Then again, these are acronyms and not words, so maybe there is no right or wrong. EDIT: Woo-hoo, 1,000th post

Interesting comments from the OP. I have flown SCL - AKL, the long-haul portion of that flight, and the service was equal to what LAN provides on their long-hauls between SA and NA, which is to say generally on par with most international long-haul J service. And being a red wine buff I find LAN better than most, with excellent reds ...

Usually you are not able to reserve in advance the exit row, especially not from their website. I do not know if they changed their policy since they joined oneworld, I think the best think to do is to called customer service and ask them to reserved you an exit row, if not the same day at the airport you can request it.

All I can chime in with is that I just recently got a domestic award ticket with Fidelidade points with no problem for Dec 18.
You didn't mention when you were flying. If sometime this Spring, might a restriction on award seats be tied to the upcoming entry of TAM into *A? That is, reduce or limit variables to make the initial ...

I'd like to know as well if MX still does status matches. From the Master Thread it seems as if they did it very readily. The MX contact email address given there was closed!

Access to First Class lounge is restricted to OW Emerald and First Class passengers only: http://www. oneworld.com/ow/ffp/loung...search#Loun ges
However, in Santiago you should have had access to the Pablo Neruda business class lounge based on your class of travel and/or OW elite status:

Yes, you will have to clear immigration, collect bags and drop them after customs at GDL. 1:40 should be enough time. I have never found immigration at Mexican airports (other than CUN) to take more than 15-20 mins. If this is around the holidays, I wouldn't be surprised if the lines are a bit longer.
