Thunderroad, you are likely correct in that you could reduce other credit and add a higher limit to this card. I'm in a similar boat...a sub-$10k limit on the BA card. I received my card yesterday. Two interesting things: (1) the activation number led me instantly to a human. First words out of his mouth after confirming my identity were "Whoa, that's a great promotion." (2) he proactively mentioned that I could...

It's rather strange that they could lose your BAEC number. It's the only way you'll get any rewards from that card... Let the conspiracy theories roll

They are all different and each has its ups and downs for both qualification and value. AA can be hit with all points accumulated, including bonuses and non-travel earning. I'm pretty sure they are the only ones with that feature. CO and DL can be hit with all EQMs/MQMs so partner metal flights count too. UA is UA-metal only. On the benefits side, CO grants the same status you have to a spouse or partner. That's pretty nice. On the...

This is not a DL specific topic. Therefore I am moving it to MilesBuzz which is a far more appropriate forum for all to discuss this issue.

Unless Citi has changed their policies, I would phone again and speak with a different customter service rep. Some CSRs have discouraged me from using my Citibank AA card when opening an account by phone, and some have been very accommodating.
So far this year I have been able to fund an Ultimate Savings account, a Citi checking ...

Raised public disclosure requirements would be sufficient to help the airline " loyalty" program customers know what is going on and make more informed decisions. It will be interesting to find out how much of this move by Schumer's office is a result of DL SkyMiles customers complaining to the Senator's office.

I personally use my miles to get free domestic tickets for my wife so she can travel with me on business trips. I'll of course use any DBCFREEs I have first, and then use miles. I did use miles for our honeymoon trip last Summer for both of us. Even got upgraded on 1 segment!
I know many on here use them to get biz & first ...

When you called the first time, did you point out that you didn't stay there and that you didn't earn the points? If you did and the hotel still didn't do anything, AFAIC, you have fulfilled your obligation. If they only told you that they looked up "your" number but you didn't tell them that it wasn't actually you, you owe them a ...

Hi, Fountain79.
One way to determine if it is cheaper to pay cash or to use frequent flyer miles is to do a conversion from cash to FF miles using pencil and paper.
For example, you mention that the cash fare you found is 1,000 (presumably US dollars). If you took that US$1,000 and purchased frequent flyer miles, how many ...

Question
I have a lot of USAirways miles. The airline seems to be on shaky ground, economically speaking. Do I need to be in a rush to use my miles for fear of the airline going under, or do most defunct airlines usually get taken over by another airline and the miles get transferred to another program? Is this likely for USAirways?...

since most programs are progressive in the sense that benefits are higher at higher levels (idine, airlines, etc.), we try to concentrate on one account for each program. It's all the same, so there is no "mine" or "yours".
