SYD-LHR J Class on JAL
Published (2009-11-10 21:23:00)
I don't know much about the SYD-NRT leg, but I can give you some NRT-LHR info as I flew JL401 in late october. Lounge: J pax will be eligible for the Sakura Lounges either at the Main Terminal or Satellite Concourse. Always pick the Main Terminal lounge. If you have time, prebook a massage or head to the 2nd floor of the lounge and enjoy the food there. Seat: As JalPak mentioned, the seat is Shell Flat Seat, horizontally reclining to...

I am holding 2 U awards on flight JL 1 in April (not my first choice of dates - little availability this close). I have been looking forward to having a direct flight from SFO until I started rediang this thread: JL1 and JL2 (777-300) - Best Business Class Seat? particularly post # 24 by coachngs. My partner is a plus size and it sounds like the new neo seats on 777 are not very wide and she would not be comfortable. While flying from SFO to...

Hi - I flew the other way GMP-HND in J. On that day they operated with an ancient 747. Was seated in 1A, old style seats but very comfy. Food out of GMP was a box of snacks ( dinner time): sushi, pickles and other Japanese delights. Very short flight with AVOD (Magic II) though but hardly can enjoy it.

Just wondering - was it an award seat?
I ask as sometimes the flight attendants do know and the service and attitude sometimes equals the price of the taxes.

Welcome to the world of mileage collecting!
If you are traveling in Economy without any JAL or Oneworld Sapphire or Emerald status, the lounge will be out of the question. You will need to align yourself to an Oneworld airline's program that best suits your needs, and work your way up to the elite levels, which means flying lots ...
