Booked and Flew same day, no meal?

Aircraft are generally catered to the figures booked for that flight, or perhaps an extra meal in CE and ET just in case of last minute bookings. At LGW there's provision to call on Alpha catering to bring a top up meal for somebody who books late, I would imagine the same thing exists at LHR too. As many flights often carry catering for the return from the UK, then unfortunately it's possible there wasn't time to get a meal...

Booked and Flew same day, no meal?

Because short haul European flights returning to London have the meals for the return flight loaded at LHR on the outbound flight, it is not at all surprising and indeed common. In the "good old days" they used to carry a spare meal or two, but in these straightened times of waste not want not, I understand that that practice has ceased. If your husband booked his flight back to the UK, say, about 2 hours before the flight...

This is quite common, gentleman in CE on JER_LGW was in same boat yesterday. Am sure one of the BA staff on here will confirm but if flight is booked close to the departure of the plane itself from the UK then no meal is loaded.

It's about using a tug to get the aircraft from the gate to the runway, via a new tug, controlled by the plane crew, and not the tug driver, so engines aren't needed till just before take off. Virgin had this idea ages ago I recall, never really happened though.

1. You will need to phone up BA and ask them to fax you confirmation of your shiny new Silver status in order to get into the lounges without a card (this is despite your boarding pass and BA's system showing you as eligible). At LHR, they are pretty strict about seeing both your boarding pass and Exec Club card. 2. Yes, as Silver...

There has been quite some discussion on this (is it real or photoshopped?) based on its posting on this thread here. I'm beginning to wonder if people are reporting the news onto FT, or if the news is just reporting what they find on FT. What with Squeeler being quoted in the Times, and now this in the Telegraph. I'm amazed not...

Ask at T5 that if there's any OP Ups from WT+ could they be seated together in WT+. Emphasise that they don't expect to be UG'd, just seated together if possible in WT+ after they sort out each cabin. Hope that makes some sense.

I would highly recommend the Bose Quiet Comfort (QC2) head phones. I think they cost about £250 new but you can also buy them on Ebay for around £100 with new ear pads (hygene) as good as new. The noise cancelling is excellent. I use them for flying and also the train. They come with an airline adaptor and you can also remove the ...
