I do understand your point, that American Express requires payment within 30 days even if there is no immediate penalty. I think I also understand the historical rationaile for the ambiguity. Published (2009-11-25 14:00:00)
Hello all, I apologize if this is a stupid question, but here goes. When I go to the bonus points mall, I see we now earn 4X points and 6X points until the end of the year. Does this mean that I am earning 4 times the usual number of points? Or am I earning 4 points? For example, if Apple.com usually pays 2 points for every $1, will I be earning 4 x 2 = 8 points per dollar spent or only 4 points per dollar? My other question is can I go...

AMEX considers airline ticket...

Actually you often CAN NOT DO A COLLECT CALL when you are traveling. Because the majority of public phones are owned by private companies that charge so much amex blocks the collect call request. (simplified but true) Even most United States airports have succumbed to the easy money offers these sleazy private telephone companies pay just to have the phone location

Just tell them to credit you back the cost of the call. Any time I've had to call about a security issue while traveling, I've just told the agent it's costing me a fortune, and they issue a statement credit that ranges from $20-50US. Never had a problem getting this done.

Experienced the same thing. Thanks for the initial post. You have to watch these CC companies like a hawk - always trying to pull something. I just opened this account and they must have slipped in the travel insurance. I bought a $99 ticket and had $40 in insurance fees charged by AMEX. Call to resolve.

The Companion ticket on the Platinum Card is quite frankly a marketing gimmick at best.
It is only valid on full fare tickets. With the BA Premium Class sale on at the moment, you will probably be able to bag two business class tickets for less than the price of buying one ticket which would get you the free companion ticket.

Garden view room booked for $340, slightly less than best available on hotel web site. Upgrade not mentioned at check-in. When I asked about it, front desk spent time checking but said only thing on offer would be several steps above, and thus be at a cost. They were very nice about it, and said it was because much of hotel's north tower was blocked off due to construction.

Anybody ever gotten a Daily Wish to work? I was unaware of it and see greatly mixed reviews (though mostly negative) online about it. Wondering if it's worth it to sign up.

What amex website address did you use to get the hotel price online?
I always find the FHR price exceeds booking direct with the hotel.
