Wax the thread.
Cut some Ice Wing Fiber the same length as the Wool/Polar Bear.
Stack the Ice Wing Fiber on top of the Wool/Polar Bear.
Twist it up.
As you wrap forward stroke back the
fibers and then tie it off.

Did you use Bite Wire for the connection? Looks good on that end, the only thing I would change would
be to tie on straight eye hooks. If you tied these on a Mustad I will have to deduct points on the pattern.
Stay with the 3 bead solution, I wouldnt
go 2 on that.

I have had both vises. The spider is a good vise and it best for smaller stuff. If you get in to saltwater stuff you will notice the weakness.
The mongoose is better for going from midges to streamers.
To answer the question of worth the extra money: only if you tie flies at the extremes of size and tie often. If you tie for yourself and only fill trout boxes for this area, the spider is a...
