Eric, I didn't miss the point, but thank you. They are two different concepts. People may have been using people's names in text tags for years but they have not been tagging " people in photos " for years.

For all the time I've been on Facebook, I can count on one hand the number of photos I've seen that have been "facetagged" with people who are not actually in the photo. Perhaps all of my contacts are the exception to the "people on Facebook use the feature for 'sharing'" usage. On Flickr, there is a 'share this' feature so people should not be using the "people in...

kircedes rose The only people that can help you is staff. Everything else is speculations. Use Help by Email: www.flickr.com/help/with/other/ Also, keep in mind, there are other reasons than photos which can get you deleted. Many adult erotic users are deleted because of their actions and behavior on Flickr. as for "What happened to my Pictures?" They are gone. If the account was deleted then the images are gone along with...

LĂș_ said I suspect that an awful lot of people would assume that a third-party site has to "search" in some sense (say, "look it up") to find anything on Flickr, and that therefore hiding from their searches would disable all access by them. Exactly. I must admit, I'm not terribly savvy when it comes to API issues. I sort of assumed that if a 3rd party program couldn't find me (via search) then I...

If you use www.dopiaza.org/flickr/setmgr/v2/index.php Which makes smart sets according to tags. Add, say, the tag "Set 1" on upload, then any photo with the tag "Set 1" will be put into Set 1

It occasionally happens that serial pests will join a group, file disconcerting photos and then leave the group. Unfortunately they can only be banned while they are members.

People who are contacts of yours can write testimonials if they go to your profile page and click the link.
You can check to see if someone has written a testimonial for you there too. If they have, you can approve it.
If you write a testimonial for a contact, it's best to let them know, since Flickr doesn't notify them that they have pending testimonials....

Sounds like you have the beginnings of an idea to prevent misuse of a feature.

Are you on the Batch Organize tab or the Sets tab?

Mostly you don't. If people have made you a contact then they should see your new uploads in the contacts section of their home page. If you want to email a particular contact to tell them about something special you can just use flickrmail in the usual manner. There's no way to bulk email all your contacts about new uploads since that would very easily get spammy....

Some people may tag you on a photo for reasons other than that you are on it:

BTW I see that you are still tagged on that photo.

.."replace" is a pro-feature ..you'd have to upload the new (better) one, add it to the set and then delete the old one ..of course, this would result in losing any views, comments, faves, etc

For something like this, you'll want to contact staff directly, instead of posting in a user-to-user forum.
EDIT: Go here to do that.

Sounds like you've saved them in two different color spaces.
Look at the exif data on a newly-replaced photo, and then at an older photo. Do you have different color spaces?
PS
Please get the safety flags set correctly on your images. You risk having your account set to unsafe if you don't.

there are no settings to prevent this i'm afraid. the first rule of copyright on the internet is if they can see it, they can copy it.
you can make it harder (generally speaking copyright infringer's aren't too bright.) Go to privacy and change...

The default setting affects uploads you do via the web page uploadr (which you can override).
Is it possible you are overriding your default in the uploadr?

You can batch them up in the Organizr, and change permissions to private if you want.
Choose Organize&Create>>All your content. Then once organizr opens, click ...

You need a photo editing program to do this - it's not a flickr feature. (Try Picknik - you might be able to do it there)
