thanks Nammo, appreciate the feed back but as money IS a problem...and this is where I come undone ... I need a good walk around that is sharp & crisp , something that is good for portraits and everyday stuff! or am I asking too much?

Thanks for the news :)
For me:
1) Confirm for 19th. (Unavailable for 13th)
2) Assistant (Prep, Setups, equipment holder, packups etc), and backup photographer if needed.
I have a few tripods, 1 brollie, 1sb-600, 1 metz58 flash, 1 5-in-1 fold able light reflector/diffuser.
3) Available whole day.. Will need someone to pick me up either from newcastle or ...

Apparently there is a complex formula for determining which pics make explore, so there is nothing that you can really 'do', just keep taking fab pics :)

I'm not sure. I admit, I play with exposure/colours/levels a bit, and ocassionally clean up the odd scratch/mark on a kid's photo or whatever, but I wouldn't think I go as far as some with photoshop.
That said, how is it any different to film? I can't comment on your practice --- you may shoot film, but you've not said how you develop. Photoshop is nothing different to the dark ...

I love the 27-70 great all round lens. Although with your 300d which isn't full frame you won't get the full benefit from it. Maybe go the 17-105?
