I am pretty happy with the Wilton brand and one from Sur la Table. I agree that they don't all bake the same. I've bought the extra cheap ones, and they don't seem to produce as good a cupcake.

Hi Cathy! Super cute website you have - I love the hot pink and the font! I have a question...is it worth it to argue with the woman? Do people actually call the cupcakes by name or do they just ask for carrot, lemon, chocolate, etc.? If they ask for them by name, it's worth it to register the names...but if they don't...I wouldn't waste the time arguing with that woman! Good luck!

Some of our friends expect a 100% discount... we usually give a 20% discount for friends. It's difficult hey!

close friends get my stuff for free. other friends, i give a 20% discount or I'll discount in other ways, like deliver to them for free or add fondant decorations at no extra cost.

I would not use buttercream. I would recommend making them with fondant or gumpaste or royal icing.

My problem is that I tend to offer a discount. I've had people tell me to stop doing this, my work is worth the cost, no matter a friend or not. I still offer discounts sometimes. Generally, I will give free delivery, offer the Standard rate for a Specialty flavor, no cost for simple toppers.. something like that. Luckily, I haven't found friends expecting discounts....

I almost bought that book awhile back, thanks for the heads up! I don't know if it's worth it to you, but you can dispute the charge with your bank if the purchase was less than 60 days ago. Good luck!
