I have the book - and, Yes, it's worth getting. But get it cheaper as a download from the author's site, read it on screen and print out what you think you are going to need regularly. For example, I never can remember how to set up three automatic shots to use iin hdr :-)

johannetta - I would give Canon a call anyway.. If this has been reported as a common problem with the G9. Canon they might or might not fix it for free.. They should be able to give you the
phone numbers of their authorised camera repairs near you anyway.
If Canon customers don’t report Camera faults, they will just say that this is not a common problem when that one ...

find anyone who could service it until now and Ive been told that sending it away and replacing the PCB is going to cost me about 200 USD Selling the camera when its fixed wont even get me more than 400 USD so its a lose, lose situation (considering I paid nearly 600 USD for it when it was new. Pathetic that it ...

I wonder if there is any -one- without the problem after two years of use.
Some Canon people said they "haven't noticed" any such issue....
But now i can see around the same issue on their dslr lenses. Just a googling on "
canon lens dust" or similar and here it is. Of course in this case you can use another lense. And this (the lens replace-ability) is another point in favor of the ...
