lemmatized word frequency list

Also notice that the corpus is of 59m words, and the least frequent word, the proper name Tomás, occurred 28 times. Anything beyond this occurred less than once in every 2 million words in the corpus. I checked Nick Brown's book. His 10,000 words are all the words that occur more than 8 times per million words. On that basis, every word in the Finnish list beyond number 9410 would occur less frequency than 8 times per million. The other...

Rob, do you think if someone new all the words on this list, it would give good coverage for ordinary purposes? Word 9985 is ympärivuotinen. What does it mean and how rare is it? Well...I think you first have to clarify what a particular study considers to be discreet words....you know...are "is",...

old finnish lullaby

Interesting to note that the Finns are somewhat melancholy, but then considering their struggles it all makes sense. My grandmother could play the Spanish guitar and her songs were often very sad sounding - nothing like our country music or Spanish flamenco. On the other hand she was so loving, kind and she had that "SISU" which we saw and learned about. I see that strength in my sister. My grandmother needed it as she was...

The list contains around 2000 proper names, incl Suomi, Istanbul etc. I suppose a vocab list should have *some* of those - the key cities and a few country names, but not too many.

1.) "Presidentti on... minä!" (think telling result of vote) and notice that pause in there. 2.) "Presidentti olen minä" would ruin suprise in 2nd word "olen", "minä" is unnecessary and its tarzan or yoda speak anyway. 3.) "Presidentti on minä" WTF! Astrid Thors is president? 4.) "Presidentti... olen minä" look 1.
