Multi-year user of Giganews... used Astraweb back 'in the day' when a lot of fills were needed... Switched to Astraweb when then went to the $11/month deal... Keep tabs on GN with their minimum deal, only once in 8+ months have I had to use them to 'fill' Astra. BUT, I've caught both servers (Us and Euro) with minor to massive 'skips' of posted articles. What is interesting is, one will skip ...

Try the Eu/Astraweb if you have missing parts on the US server. Works for me.

i used unison on mac and grabit on windows. Both of them getting such a slow speed. However, i also get all the other downloads at 20mbits like mikezs.

I'm using three but just moved it down to 2 and the same problem I think I'm done with Newsgroups anyway unfortunately - way too much hassle, and for example I just downloaded a 5GB HD file (took forever on my connection) and it won't extract because it's missing 7 blocks or something, very frustrating

I dont see why a 0day release is so different from downloading anything else on BT. IMO the risk is all the same.

1. BT is free. If I had at least 1MB upload and an ISP who doesn't screw me on speed, I'd still be using torrents. 2. Last week I've downloaded a torrent that was uploaded in 2004. I know stuff gets re-uploaded from time to time on usenet, but not everything.
