If you're interested in an internal door frame, then addition to Larry's door frame, you might want to check out Con's Boler door fix (also involved a frame) . He made up a very detailed document about it, with photographs. Reason for edit: Created hyperlink

Archie, do you know if the frig works? If it's a 3-way, one of the methods used to see if the frig can get working again, is to pull it out and turn it upside down for a day or two or three. If it's not working (even an all-electric one) you'll ending up pulling it out anyway.

Using adhesive on ensolite
Published (2009-11-25 14:29:00)
I saw the thread with these two solutions. I was confused about how the weld mount fastener would work. Would you poke each one through the screw holes in the brackets? The last solution couldn't be used for the front and back windows that only have rubber gaskets, right?

It is gas electric/gas, don't know about three way though. I haven't tried it yet, but it's cold enough I won't be able to test it until spring anyway. I probably more than enough to keep me busy for the momemt. What does turning it upside down tell you? Archie

Question about Scamp Options
Published (2009-11-23 16:14:00)
Ken, I appreciate that photo. I combed the Scamp site for a photo of the front dinette and couldn't find one. Lee, I can do mods, but my construction always looks very home-done, so I would be very reluctant to try to do the mods you mentioned. I will probably end up getting the regular Scamp instead of the custom deluxe. It depends on finances at the time. But even so, I think I could get an open, airy feeling with the side bathroom by...

Volara

Has anyone here used a closed cell insulation foam called Volara? I found it at http://www.closedcellfoams.com/index.html The cost seems reasonable....I think. Also, any idea how much I might need for my Trillium 1300? I am guesstimating about 160 sf. That's without factoring in much waste so I guess I'd add a bit to that.

Michael I Va. you can go on line pay $5 and get a trip permit to get a vehicle back home from out of state or move a recently purchased vehicle to your home. All you need is the VIN and you print out your permit from the VA DMV website. I checked Vermont DMV and could not find such a program. But you are in luck with Oregon. It looks like it will cost you $30 and you will have to go into a Oregon DMV with proof of insurance...

Parking ordinances

Ok, so a few of us are the minority! Go figure ! And you all say you are for people being able to do what they want on their property, but you truly don't know how you would feel if you had a neighbor who has a junk yard living next door to you. As far as laws, ordiances etc if we didn't have them than our country would be like other country's where everyone runs amuck. We unfortunately need law's. But want...

Yeah, I have to agree, it took me 10 months to get the right plates instead of expired Washington ones, and I was never stopped even when my turn signal wasn't working on one side. But no plates at all might get you stopped faster than expired plates.

Hi Amy, We just had a thread on these about a week ago. I checked into switching and there were pros and cons. Personally, I don't think I would worry too much about people not filling them, but here's what I came up with: 1) The composite tank is more expensive, maybe about $100 compared to about $30 2) The composite tank is lighter weight, but that advantage becomes considerably less...

What is the biggest tire that will fit in the wheel well without causing damage? I'm not looking to go offroading, but would like to be able to take it down two tracks without dragging. I just pulled a frig. out of an older 13 to replace the floor section under and behind the frig. First turn off propane and remove tank. Next open outside access panel for the frig. You will need to break the connections on the gas line T connection for the frig., range and supply line. Next you will find two wires spliced into the 12V line, mine used blue trailer splices, disconnect those ...

Check on getting some kind of temporary operating permit. The downside is you might need one for each state- some states recognize the others, some don't.

QUOTE (Rob L @ Nov 25 2009, 07:01 PM) Has anyone here used a closed cell insulation foam called Volara? rob, I haven't any info on Volera. I have been to this site and have requested samples but haven't gotten them yet. From the picture of the Volera, however, there may be a concern. It looks like the foam is "skinned." I found with a different brand that the skin doesn't ...

Amy, Just thinking out loud here, but one reason the front bunk might smell worse or different than anything else in the trailer is that often people remove them to storage in order to have more room in the front of the trailer. And maybe it was not "good" storage... If it were me, I would first remove the bunk from the trailer. That's six screws and about five minutes (two hinges, ...

I don't think adhesive on ensolite would work on curtain rods, because of the leverage factor. You have a lot of leverage on a small base with a curtain rod; vs. no leverage and a huge base on a light. I am going to go with one of two options when I replace mine: 1) In places with an overhead cabinet or shelf, I am going to mount the rod-holders on the underside of the shelf (many people...

My new scamp 13 basic came with a progressive dynamics PD-9130 30 amp converter (standard), it is also the only one listed in their parts department. As far as the ac power goes they also supply a 30 amp rv power cord (standard) and a PD 5000 ac/dc distribution panel (standard) Yes you can get vinyl flooring, I did it was a $75 option. Actually, I'm one of those people who like's these kinds of ordinances.. please don't flame me. We too have this ordinance in some areas in Portland and it was put in place to stop (or slow) urban blight. It would be nice if all trailers folks wanted to park in their own driveways were shiny and well-kept, but the fact is, a lot are just pieces of falling apart junk. I once lived across ...

I've been thinking of doing that with one of the "cheap" (under $100) 10' x 10' First Ups from Wal-Mart. There wouldn't be a lot of extra coverage front and rear (I have not taken vertical sticks to measure exactly), but it would cover the whole roof (top of roof is less than 10' long), and of course there would be extra on the sides. From what I can tell, the lowest edge of the canopy ...

Hi Tom, First of all, congratulations on your new Scamp Very exciting! I see you've already caught the drift on silicone If you have any to remove you'll know why the topic heats things up My opinion is that caulk around things like hatches, windows, and the like is just a band-aid and not really a solution. Dollars to doughnuts someone caulked it after it started leaking, and ...

Hi Amy, She's home!! In my opinion it's not completely unusual to have a few leaks that would allow water in when you buy a used trailer; on the other hand, I would want to fix them, as I don't like *any* water coming in, even if it's raining hard and I'm driving 55mph. The one place I would put up with a little bit of leakage in such situations would be the refrigerator vents for an ...
