Judges often correct people whent hey call them "Ma'am. They have a title at work and while they are at work? they expect it to be used. DId I think he was being purposely disrepectful..no. But she has that right.

Women Our Own Worst Enemies?

I agree. But I would criticize someone "wearing" a gun, regardless of gender. As for the running attire, I could care less. I used to model when I was younger. It's part of how I paid my way through college.?Because of that, it was naturally assumed, I was stupid. I often went into work environments having to prove myself, not only to the men, but doubly so, to other women. It was always assumed I got the job, because of my...

I totally think that women are our own worst enemies. We are the first to criticize one another for every little thing- she works, she doesn't, she volunteers at school, she doesn't, she made cookies from scratch, she bought them at the store, she's too skinny, she's too fat, etc. If we'd all lighten up on one another and accept the fact that everyone is doing their best from day to day, we'd ...

While I can certainly understand her point that she worked hard to achieve the title of senator, I just don't think the way she pointed that out was the best way to do so. Perhaps it's a Southern thing, but I see the term "ma'am" as showing just as much respect as "senator," if not more so, and I think she could have shown him equal respect by waiting until the end of the hearing to personally...

But isn't this supported by the religious views of most of this area of the world where women are viewed with little value and good for nothing but sexual entertainment and reproduction?

Frankly, I agree with them on this one, but see that it will unfairly hurt only the women, since one cannot force a woman to agree to a paternity test on an unborn child.
My personal belief is that all women in the forces under deployment should be informed that if they are going to be in a combat zone they must be on an IUD, Norplant, or some other non-removable form of birth control. If ...

I'm torn on this idea. I hate the idea of a woman not being able to get away from an abusive situation. I have a male acquaintance who has recently had big problems trying to get away from an abusive relationship. He could not get help from abuse centers because he's a guy. The abusive wife now has custody of their child and he's paying big time child support. Granted I only have his view of ...

Do you need a man in your life? Need? Probably not. Though, being married for over 10 years, I'd say I like having one in my life. ;)
Is it a necessity whether for personal or financial issues? Having children together, I think it is fairly necessary financially and personally. I know that ladies do it on their own all the time- I give them much respect for doing so. It would be...

Being a resident of SC and watching this entire story unfold, I was happy to hear that Jenny Sanford filed for divorce. I had been a huge fan of Mark Sanford and when he came out that he had been unfaithful, I was stunned. I was glad to see that Jenny was not the dutiful wife standing by his side. Her absence said all she needed to say.
I'd rather her four sons see that it's not okay to ...

And this is about women at the VA Hospitals: MARTINSBURG, W.Va. Doctors at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in this quiet, bucolic town tucked between coal country and the nation's capital used to go months without treating a female veteran. Today, they're reporting the beginning of a boom. Mixed with the Vietnam and World War II-era patients waiting for a doctor are 20-something women ...

Ugh! What a scary place. I think speaking out on this is good! Promoting women's rights and peace should be a global effort - not just country to country.
