I don't recollect a Hope this helps at the end of my slapd.conf. (Sorry, this is aggravating me now and I can't figure out why it's not working, so I tend to react to aggravation with jokes.) Would you mind, for the moment, simplifying it? Code: su cd /var/lib/ldap rm -rf simpson.org mkdir simpson cp /etc/openldap/DB_CONFIG..example simpson/DB_CONFIG cd /var/lib chown -R ldap:ldap /var/lib/ldap ls -l /var/lib/ldap/simpson Make...

How would you go about making sure DB_Config is owned by ldap. Would it be chown -R ldap:ldap /var/lib/ldap/simpson/DB_Config. And isn't DB_Config.example not .. I won't be able to try this untile tomorrow.

How did you install it? It should give you an uninstall option. Can you give us a 'ls' of your installation files? Did the author ever mentioned doing his way?

OK. I'll think about this. How do you suggest I go about uninstalling -AMP? Should I run around deleting everything with Apache, MYSQL, or PHP in the name? Or erase and reinstall everything LOL! Chris

i did see a reference to commenting out the modules. what effect does this have? should this only be done if i am getting errors? at this point i havent commented the modules out and it appears to be working fine, but i could be wrong.

You don't have that hardware, so you don't want those modules loaded. I can't remember what it does if you fail to comment them, but it is a nuisance.

I'm trying to get a simple samba share to allow just one computer to get files off this server. We're in a Active Directory environment and I'm wondering if this is causing me problems. I can see the computer in the workgroup, but If I connect and open the share, I get a login window. I'd prefer if this didn't happen and it let me in, but what's worse is that the user name is weathermon2\Guest, and It's...

Backup server

I think it depends on your budget and how fail proof you want this to be. The cheapest option would be to have a hard drive or an old dedicated server connected to a router. If you want it to be more reliable then you can upgrade to RAID and swap out drives whenever they fail (which shouldn't be too often). NFS works fine for me. Try the selinux.list https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-selinux-list/ SJ I could find a thing in 2009 about pgsql or dovecot on the list.

Which howto. Have you seen mine?

You're probably using homenetworking's tutorial, which is excellent, but something's missing in it there. I've forgotten what it was--think you have to be sure you're communicating with the server first.
Anyway, try my version of it, and see if it works better.

To get the php mysql support in php I took a chance yum could fix the trouble following another post,
[# yum install php-mysql]. But, when I looked in [/usr/local/php/include/php/ext/] the place I expect to find the now loaded extension, there are no new extensions. What did it install?\

Yeah, read my page on it, it explains it all. Other suggestion, realize that most LDAP documentation is as bad as most Linux docs.
Seriously. inetorgperson schema should be included already Look at the lines up at the top of /etc/openldap/slapd.conf. Isn't include inetorgperson schema already there without a # (comment sign) in front of it? If not, uncomment.

I have just a small network with a handful of users, and found it easiest to simply create a linux user with the same name and credentials as the windows user, then use smbpasswd to add that user as a samba user. I have a W2003 AD domain here too.
Maybe there is an easier way to sync with windows users (I hope).

The short answer is:
You need the clamav-milter- sysvinit and clamav-scanner-sysvinit packages to be able to use the 'service' command.
The -upstart package(s) work a little differently, by using:
Code:
start clamav-milter
status clamav-milter
stop clamav-milter
I believe upstart was introduced in Fedora 9. I haven't looked at it much, since it seems to work ...

Rather than SELinux could it be these fixes needed?
Changelog
* Mon Sep 21 2009 Tom Lane <tgl@redhat.com> 8.4.1-3 - Ensure pgstartup.log gets the right ownership/permissions during initdb Resolves: #498959
* Wed Sep 16 2009 Tomas Mraz <tmraz@redhat.com> - 8.4.1-2 - Use password-auth common PAM configuration instead of system-auth

I have the same problem in fc12. Did you ever work out a solution other than building the modules from source (which on fc12 throw all sorts of errors)?

I see the DocumentRoot is "/var/www/html", not "/var/www"
perhaps this is the reason?
