Just purchased a flasher relay and it works great, much better and cheaper than having to individualy wire in a resistor to each signal light, I couldnt find any directions so I figured i'd help someone else out if they were electronically retarded like I am. Step 1, Remove left fairing near clutch, Step 2, Locate the OEM flasher relay.(the little black box with a rubber hanging piece) Step 3, Unplug it and simply plug in the new one,...

I was able to reach down and swap out the relay with out taking off any plastic. That was after I found out where the relay was because I saw the location called out in different areas with different years. Mine is a 2006. I actually kept the original relay tied off in the same area so that if the new one failed I could just reach down and switch the plug over. What for our next SoCal ride and join up with us. Thanks for this post!

Scorpion Can Leak-Seam Fix
Published (2009-11-20 05:03:00)
Seek, that's a very intuitive fix, much easier to undo than the permatex. Doesn't look bad Either as a temp solution. Let me know how it goes. Saw another person with the same problem on spirtbikes, said his sealed as well. Seems to be more and more common. Where did u order yours from? Hopefully, doesn't take 1k for you. scorp

Nice write up and mod bd43. I might have to comb through the r1's manual and see if I can find a empty slot.

Scorpion Can Leak-Seam Fix
I had an exhaust leak from my new Scorpion Cans. I sealed all the clamped areas with hi-temp sealant but noticed that I was getting some backfiring on occasion. I put a thread out on the board asking for an answer to the problem.
I noticed that the actual seams of the cans were letting exhaust escape...

+1 After getting rained on all day while sitting outside work my key got very stubborn to put in the ignition. Some WD40 and 10 rounds of inserting the key and it was back to new.
