Thanks. The arrows do look good, but unfortunately EVERYONE has them. He wants to get something a little different.

"Way back when", I used to ride to school every single day, no matter what. One morning it was like 7 degrees F and when I went to kickstart, (remember those?), my little 90cc bike the kickstarter, (with a high-pitched "dink"), just snapped off like glass! There was ice and snow and I could not push the thing off so I had to ride the bus that one day! I suppose I will ride year round, (just not as far and...

More Vegas Motorcycle Fatalities
Published (2009-11-04 22:24:00)
This past summer in SoCal was just as bad, seemed like every week there was at least one fatality. Almost all could have been avoided. The way I see it, you as a rider MUST be on the defensive side at ALL times. The term "accident" gets thrown around too much. IMHO there are very few real accidents, the rest are crashes. I hate hearing about riders dying, I really do.

You are going to find conflicting opinions about this. I think generally it's ok, the main gripes I have found are not to mix oils of different brands as well as not mixing synthetic with non-synthetic oil. Otherwise I think it's fine.

I wrote this in the other thread : I found it to be a very useful device. Here is an example why: when I lived in Florida (Tampa Bay area), there was a crazy a$$ driver in a dark green camaro driving fairly reckless and barreling up behind me. I was able to avert him and keep from getting run over. I radioed up ahead to my buddy and warned him about this crazy driver. He was also able to ...

Hey Coastie, welcome to the forum mate. Another Aussie... Sweet. As for your key drama, unfortunately, I think the info you've been given is true. The dealer told me the same thing when I bought my bike (new), "Don't lose the Red key, or it'll cost you heaps to replace the whole ignition system". Any way of contacting the previous owner and finding out where the Red key is/went???

Something not pointed out here is inertia. A car is considerably heavier than the FZ6 (or most motorcycles). Trying to stop the heavier object (car) is going to take considerably more force than the lighter object (FZ6). Most newer cars have single piston disc brakes in the front and sometime's a single disc in the rear. The FZ has 8 pistons up ft, 2 in the back. The FZ or any ...

hi and i am pretty new here myself and don't have a bike like you but am considering the fz6 as well. not sure if i'll be much help but i'll try. as far as the seating position between the sv650s and the fz6...i believe there are after market handle bars that you could purchase to make the fz6 sportier. as far as the engine is concerned...my friend has an sv650s and hasn't had if for long and...

You don't drive bikes, you ride them. FWIW, I don't think you should get either of these two bikes. Is money an issue? B/C the FZ is likely going to be quite a bit cheaper to buy and own....ESPECIALLY if you buy a used FZ.
