There has to be at least two sources..... Yamaha is a big proponent of dual sourcing parts... the OEM parts that the OEM lines are mounted to would be acceptable for the braided lines as well. I wonder if you can scrounge a set of ABS lines from a wrecked bike, to cannibalize the fixtures from?

Wow thats lame. Just put it through insurance, if they make a fuss well you already contacted them, and they threatened you, which you construed to be them being unwilling to take responsibility and you let insurance deal with it. They don't really have a leg to stand on. I hope the insurance company charges them double and they lose no claim discount or something.

Well, I've recently turned 40 (God, I hate even typing that.....). Mods are great. The more mods on my bike the better. Who wants to have a bike like everyone else? My hubby bought a new Speed Triple this month and we have already bought cans, flyscreen, radguard, bar end mirrors, belly pan, rear hugger and fender eliminator. On my FZ6 I have cans, radguard, carbon heel guards and a big Christmas list for extras I want. If I'm...

So last night i got rear ended driving my car. when i got out i told myself to be polite and calm. then i got a little angry because when the lady driver came out, she didn't apologize and instead said "ohhh doesn't look bad at all." then her teenage son came out and said "hey looks like there's no damage." it was raining and dark so can't really see. today during the day i went to my...

Well said cap'n! One thing we have to keep in mind is this though... they are French and they have no qualms about speaking their mind. Wavex has told us on many occasions how they interact. They don't treat customer service the same way American companies do and we really cannot expect them to, can we? I can say one thing about the Frenchmen that I've known over the years. You know EXACTLY where you stand with them because...

Update: Today I received an email from Top Sellerie saying they didn't want to wait for my returned seat and shipped out a brand new seat to meet the specs i chose. I have also received credit on my shipping charges as they stood by their word of refunding me for that. I will now wait for the new seat to arrive. So far so good........

my only problem is, they were sticking it to you when you had individual complaints, now when we have all banded together and went public, they want to get their act together and look good. Im glad it is all working out for you, but i still dont buy it. I personally dont believe this "one mischievous employee" story, that it just so happens every complaint went through him? Like i said, personally, i think they were just...

Congratulations on the new bike, and welcome back. I just bought a new (black) '09 Fazer back in September myself. I love it and have NO complaints whatsoever. I looked at and test rode many bikes for over two years before buying the Fazer. I had not been on it sixty seconds when I said out loud to myself, " This is the bike!".
It feels good, it runs great, it "fits" me, it handles ...

Those people are probably crooks and used to screwing other people and getting away with it. Obviously, your're not the first they've messed with. There are many folks like that in the USA too.
Just the let insurance company deal with it. Insurance companies love to go after people for money.
I hope you get your bike fixed soon. Are you still able to ride while you wait for a part ...

sadly this isn't going to end well so i'll throw my thoughts out here before this gets locked down.
everyone has opinions so take it for what it's worth.
from looking around the things i have learned is that you want to stay away from anything that has "energy conserving" conditioners. it will say pretty plainly on the bottle. outside of that i don't see a big deal in conventional vs...

5) I would think twice before I'll buy an ABS bike.
Are you an experienced rider? What makes you want ABS on your bike, based on your experience/needs?
Have you did your homework (research) regarding ABS on motorcycles?
Do you live in California? (if so, why would you need such think?)

Are you hearing the fuel injection pump, by chance? When you first turn the key on, before you start the bike, you will hear the pump pressurize the rail.... that's a 'singing' sort of noise.

Flat black with charcoal striping would trick. If you can, powdercoat the shiny bits. The subdued paint is a neat hotrodder tip that I find is appealing, GRUMPY

Yes, it is the immobiliser.
You can download FZ6 manuals online. I'm sure you will find a english one with immobiliser.
But there is not much to say. Only never loose the red key. When you loose a black key you need the red key to learn the new black key to your bike.
According the manual you shall bot drive with the red key and have the red key on a safe position. You have 2 black keys to...

40. And I've been a fan of modded bikes forever and a day. Especially the types of mods you typically see on UJM's (Universial Japinese Motorcycles). I was planing of turning my CB750 into a Cafe Racer but financial situations caused me to sell it. I'll probably keep my FZ stockish for the next couple years but really like the majority of the FZ-N / Street fighter mods being done.

The Ducati Streetfighter IS NOT A STREET FIGHTER. Street Fighters have been around for a very long time its been out for a few months. A Street Fighter is a bike that has been modified with parts that just can't be bought from a store by Joe Bloe. Any bike can ...

When it's time for new rubber on mine, I'm planning on a full set of the Pirelli Angel ST Tires. The Angel ST series has replaced the Diablo Strada line-up. I've got a Pirelli Diablo Strada for my rear tire now, and it has close to 8k on it with very little wear. I've been very happy with it. Pirelli Angel ST Tire Review
Be safe!
