pull those codes man....also spray some carb cleaner or brake cleaner around intake gasket when the engine running and see if idle smooths out __________________ 1989 Bronco Eddie Bauer, 302, AOD, 3.55, 31" BFG ATs, MM Supreme Hubs, True Duals - Flowmaster 40s, Spectre drop-in filter, 102" whip, Cobra 29 2004 Trailblazer I6 1996 Suzuki RF900, K&N, MIG exhaust

tq convertor- no lockup when cold?
Published (2009-11-13 11:05:00)
Glad to read this thread. I have the cold nonlockup happening. After a couple miles, its fine. I also had something happen to me recently. I went for a drive up north, towing a trailer. Left early in the morning. Still dark out. Got about 30 miles into my trip, and I felt my torque converter unlock. At first, not knowing exactly what happened, thought it was a fluke. Then I proceded on. Stopped at the next rest area, and did a walk around....

Adding more power wont change the fact that you are running 33's a proper gear ratio change will fix your problems. I have a high H.P. 351c in one of my trucks, If I try to take off in 2nd gear it seems weak, e.g. wrong ratio for power output.

I agree, I'm not sure why you have to post ten times, but I'm tired of reading a thread that has newbies posting random stuff etc. so they can get there post count up.

The PSOM is mounted to the back of the speedometer. So, it requires removing the instrument cluster. Fear not! It's not that hard! Just take your time. Remember that the two main connectors on the instrument cluster require you to press/pinch INWARD before they can be pulled out. The one for the PSOM is a little different.

My understanding was the res is to prevent a loss of vacuum if you suddenly go WOT and the vacuum drops. On an almost unrelated topic, whats with ditching the smog pump but keeping the EGR? for the most part the sensor's have the same voltage outputs. When I built my mustang harness I got the pigtail to go to the mod engines throttle body. cut the pig tail off the mustang tps, soldered the 2 pig tails together so my main harness is untouched.

Guys and Gals, this is weird. I finally have my truck up and running. It is a 1993 bronco with the 5.8 swap (from 5.0). Anyway, after driving it for 5-10 minutes. I opened the hood to find that the top radiator hose (the big one on top going to the thermostat) is compressed as if there was a vacuum or suction. I opened the reservoir and noticed smoke (steam) coming from it. However, the gauge ...

E40D Slipping at 40mph under load Hey guys, I just recently bought a 1996 Eddie Bauer with the 351/E40D. I have been loving this truck so far but I just ran into a problem with it the other day. When going up a small grade at right about 40 mph the truck began to slip and catch. I backed off the throttle and let the truck get down to about ...
